If we've decided we need that big mid type then clearly CEY is the option. Can both CEY and MB play? Doubtful.

Then the other option who is exciting but still to develop is Greenwood. Ideally CEY is playing the role and Greenwood gets a chance to be the main man for the 2's.

Problem with having MB is the knock on effect. If he plays then CEY is stuck in the 2's and Greenwood is stuck behind him. So 2 players are not moving on in their development.

This is where Thommo's extension, even in the SANFL, is a probem. He'll be the main nan under ROB's hand and playing his 85% TOG trying to earn himself a call up. I'd love him to take it easy and look on from a forward pocket and have small spurts in the midfield to undertake his in-game coaching duties. But it won't happen, if he's in the 2's, he'll be concentrating 100% on getting back into the 1's.

CEY not playing was more about CEY than Campo, Yes its easy to blame Campo, but it would be wrong.
If you can attend some training sessions, All of the players always preform to the required plan, they all work hard.
You get some that are are happy to follow the leader, some who want to compete, some who want to fight to be that leader,
(This is midfield orientated), If you went this year you would see at time the Crouch brother go hard and do the extra, you even hear of them doing extra. Thommo the same, MacKay, Douglas, Lyons, CC. Of the players not in the team, the Hardest workers were (when Fit) , Wigg, Gore, Milera, Knights, Grigg even Menzel busted a nut and did extra, Brad Crouch when dropped went ballistic and work even harder, Some work hard but others did not, It the lack of 1% on the training track that slow some players down, put them behind at the start of the year.
I believe the penny dropped for a couple of them we will see in 2017.

What a load of shit,, so what you are saying is all the mids work tirelessly except CEY. The fact is Walsh picked him (showed faith in what his own eyes saw) and CEY proved he could play at the level with plenty of upside.
Along comes Campo - CEY disappears. FACT
PS We all wish we were in the inner sanctum like you and got to go to all the training sessions us poor average people can't.

Correct. Unless we use all our picks before they nominate him and then we have no picks to use on him. We could be hoping he slides to the rookie draft. Or we could be just planning to take him with our lowest active pick regardless of whether he's nominated.

E.g. 107 is made redundant by picking up Barlow. 89 is set to upgrade O'Brien. We use 13, 43, 53 in the draft prior to Jarman being nominated. 67 will either be used on Jars or someone else if we think he could slip through to the rookie draft. If we don't get Barlow, I think it's a given we get Jars in the ND.
Isn't it the case that fs bids are made before the draft starts? No risk that someone else will bid after we have used the relevant pick?

Congratulations, you have just achieved your 15,000th anti-Thommo post :D.

To be fair, I do remember a post of yours a few weeks ago that didn't mention Thommo.

Maintain the Rage!!!!!

So you want someone who butchers the ball WAY more than Barlow?
I watched a few live streams of the NEAFL GWS games this year, his kicking is no worse than Barlow, and better penetration IMO...... and he's 8 years younger and rarely misses with injury.....Know who I'd prefer.

Certain to offer more in 2016 than any late draft pick.

I'd be more interested in today's GWS delistee 20 year old prolific ball winner Jake Barrett rather than Barlow with an eye to future....

Maybe wrong here but I'm absolutely certain that he is going to Pork? Wasn't there a statement from him saying that either just before or during Trade weeks? I remember about his so-called poor kicking and my son (Pork fan) saying, great - just what we need -not.

You do understand when posting game results that the NEAFL is a god awful standard league ......what he or Steele does in the NEAFL is not worth discussing

No I said some worked harder than other. Not in the inner sanctum, and I am only going by sight watching training sessions, not hard to see if you bother to look.
Always said CEY has lots of Talent but needs to put in.
Have you Bother to look who also came in to the side rather than looking to blame.
Good player announce themselves some need prodding.

Was Phil Walsh not attending our training sessions?
No it was Pyke, But I guess Pyke just works for Campo like some seem to think.
Campo an assistant coach not the coach, he one Voice. Last I heard there was more than one Assistant coach.
Pyke a strong man and make his own decision on how the team is run,

We are all different, some lack natural confidence, Walsh could see that, put faith in Cam and reaped the benefits. Oh and i bother watching btw

CEY had an oustanding year in the SANFL, he seriously couldnt have put his name any further forward than he did.

I have no doubt he will be played this year or the crows would have been incompetent not to trade him if they werent planning to play him. His value was probably a third, next year it will be straight delist if he doesnt get a crack

Funny thing is CEY 's form is the best it can be, I actually dont believe Bqrlow could play aswell in the SANFL as CEY did even at the slower pace. Seriously cant see Barlow getting a giog in front of CEY, Sloane, Crouch, Crouch, Douglass or Wigg and maybe Smith in the mid. Thommo simply shouldnt have been retained like VB was a waste of a spot last year. Maybe Ottens is a waste of a spot also, so if Im going to point the finger at these guys, you wouldnt take Barlow

The Grand Final against a Swans team that had 14 AFL listed players and Barrett was best on, kicking looked reasonable to me in a pressure game...Jake Barrett No. 28.

I guess the leadership, culture and elite standards from Thommo, VB and D-Mac hasn't rubbed off on all players

Coincidence that Jacobs and Douglas both dropped off this year after being reinstated into the leadership group?

CEY was our best Magoo's player this year and cant get a gig in the A's, we have plenty of seconds players who perform quite well, remembering the teams they are playing are better than the AFL reserves teams considering they win the flag
