Bring back Michael Bevan to international cricket in his last three out of 4 pura cup innings he has made over 100 and today he made 118 from 97. Who ever said he cant bat fast is stupid. He is the reason why tasmania is winning one dayers and 4 day matches. How about replacing him for Darren Lehmann in both forms of the game tests and one dayers

Wouldn't mind seeing him in the one-day internationals again, it was a shame he got dropped but I think that was a bit of a wake up call to him. If he finishes off the season well, who knows he might be back next year for one last crack. Both teams are bloody hard to break into though.

One dayers are his only chance to play international cricket again. They won't give him another chance at Test level because all those years ago he failed to perform (averaged about 28-29).

Yeah... but 3 of the 4 were against South Australia :p

Likely he would only have made 70s and 80s if it was against Queensland ;)
Yeah, Lehmanns average is a bit inflated playing on that postage stamp all the time ;)

Bevan is yesterday's man.

Bevan is yesterday's man scoring plenty of runs who might I add is the same age as most of the player in the current Aussie squad.

BRING BACK THE BEV!!

Has been a godsend to Tasmania this year....therefore I don't want him to get into the Australian team because we need him playing for Tassie! :p

Would be great to see him still in the Aus team, however he isn't likely to get back in, even though he is the best exponent of the game ever.

I reckon in a generation's time, people will be looking at Bevan's FC record and shaking their heads at why he didn't play more tests and go on with it at the top level.

But in fairness he did get a fair run (18 tests?) and never really took his opportunity. Bit sad for him really.

Well in 50 years time, those of us who saw him play will be able to tell those people that he was crap. No where near test standard and one of the most selfish one day players I have seen.

He's scored four centuries on a slow, low-bouncing Bellerive Oval. Playing for Tassie means that he doesn't have to play the short stuff nearly as often as he used to. What finished him at Test level was his inability to play short-pitched bowling, as he used to try and fend the ball away from his body and into a packed slips/gully cordon.

This is exactly the point. Bevan is an outstanding state player; always has been. But like the rest of the Test side, he's getting on.

He's not what the Australian side needs.

And those people would be talking crap. How can a man with a first class average of 57 be "nowhere near test standard"?? If he was nowhere near test standard would he have got 18 tests? If he was born in any other cricket playing nation he would have had a fine test career

How can a man with 4 straight centuries in the highest standard domestic competition in the world be crap??

Besides he had a very good test career. Just not with the bat
