The thing is you are being sarcastic but on further thought, I don't have any confidence we would beat Tigers round 1 next season. Carlton in the 'moments' that Vossy talks about have now progressed to losers with their current confidence levels shot.

That is the type of confidence Vossy has installed in us as supporters through seasons.

I promise you, not 1 ounce of sarcasm in my response. I’m in your camp - I have seen no evidence we can withstand that type of mental pressure.

I feel strangely good about this decision. It feels like a line in the sand moment that we won't be dictated to anymore - by the playing group, the media, supporters, everyone.

If it leads to a mass exodus of players, so be it. The decision we've made today could lead to a natural filtering out of some of the types we could do without anyway.

Obviously there will be parts of the way Voss operates that will need to change along with other personnel changes. But they would already have been discussed and agreed to between GW and MV.

The biggest change we've needed for an extremely long time is a really strong footy manager. I'm hoping that's the next announcement, as it should happen before any further assistant changes.

Again I’m gutted but at some stage I’ll have to embrace the direction and get behind the team and hopefully have some hope restored.

I just hope that a part of discussions with Voss the past few months have laid out his flaws, he’s been told some home truths and had been told, fix it or your career is done.

I then just need to hope he changes and fast

This feels very Richmond-end-of-2016-esque

Changed a bunch of the assistant coaches.
Brought in a new head of footy.
Kept the coach.
Went on a run.

Could end up that way.
Also might not.

Trust Wright's judgement. He's been looking under the hood for months, im sure hes made the most educated decision.

Time will tell.

Which part of my post is ‘facetious’?
The outside noise bit.

It isn't outside noise where it counts aph. It's factual results that didn't meet their planned top 4 objective. They didn't get close to their planned objective.

Note: There is outside noise as well as factual evidence. So it isnt as simplistic as saying the club has done a good job ignoring outside noise. They have also ignored factual failure of their objectives...large scale failure.

Let me put it another way. You have a share price that you bought at $3 and it's now worth $2. The shareholders moan about it non stop and want the board to fix it. So there is noise and facts.

Your post insinuates it is only one of the two. And insinuates that there is only moaners without facts!

You left the bit out where they didn’t have a bunch of top end talent wanting to leave.

You are way off JOT.

The external noise I was referring to is the ‘sack Voss’ media leeches or did you miss all that.

I was responding to WyntersGame_ & awaiting a response.

I'm with you. I really have reservations, and I feel we'll be sitting flat for another year and probably even worse off, if that is possible.

Why would you embrace a poor decision?

I have been waiting for this for years; it gives me a lot of hope for the future of the Club.
Cook and Wright, I said I would stand by whatever decisions were made as they would informed and made by qualified people who didn't just come along yesterday. This has been 12 months of investigation and analysis, one must respect the recommendation.

Sorry for the delay, life got in the way

Which part of my post is ‘facetious’?

When you're posting on a platform that doesn't come with a sarcasm font or a "just kidding" emoji, things can get... lost in translation. Your post could easily have been mistaken as a sincere show of support for someone being facetious, even if that wasn’t your intent.

Now, I said "facetious," but I had a whole buffet of words I could’ve picked from, including:

Tongue-in-cheek
Glib
Impish
Bantering
Jesting
Sarcastic

To be fair, my response was also in jest — aimed at the possibility that your comment was tongue-in-cheek, because frankly, I’m still trying to wrap my head around the decision. Not because of ladder position, but because there’s been little to no visible growth — no shift in tactics, no evolution in game plan... just a whole lot of déjà vu.

That said, I'm just an armchair analyst with access to Wi-Fi. The board (presumably) knows more than me, so I’ll back their call. Begrudgingly, like someone clapping slowly at the end of a bad movie because the popcorn was decent.;)

But if next season looks anything like this one... it's going to be a long, painful watch.

You left the bit out where they didn’t have a bunch of top end talent wanting to leave.

Deledio? Vickery? That was a 28 year old pick 1 who was arguably the best player at the club at the time, and a 26yo pick 8 who had played 120 games.

TDK and SOS would be a pretty equivalent loss tbh
