Getting pretty ridiculous reading some of the posts catastrophising about how the club is imploding and half the playing list are about to jump ship.

Here’s a hot tip…the mood inside the club isn’t the same as the mood in here.

I was thinking this myself - maybe Wright has spoken to the individual players and it's not a mass exodus if Voss coaches out his contract - or at least those we want to keep.

Also wondering if they see 2026 as a rebuilding year and Voss committed to coaching the year out (and be paid handsomely) to play and develop the kids (a la Tony Shaw at Collingwood pre-Malthouse).

This feels very Richmond-end-of-2016-esque

Changed a bunch of the assistant coaches.
Brought in a new head of footy.
Kept the coach.
Went on a run.

Could end up that way.
Also might not.

Trust Wright's judgement. He's been looking under the hood for months, im sure hes made the most educated decision.

Time will tell.

Only true if you ignore the fact that Hardwick was a first time coach that consistently improved a developing team (4 wins in 2009 prior to appointment to 6W in 2010, 8W in 2011, 10W in 2012, 15W in 2013. He had the tigers in finals for 3 consecutive appearances before 'failing' in 2016 and triggering a review. The review determined that 2016 was an aberration and there rest is history

Voss is a second time coach that took over a significantly more mature/developed list and has failed to deliver any sort of consistency over the past 4 years.

Bunch mate. Not one player.

You get my drift. It’s not the same. But let’s hope you’re right.

Lets assume we're including Jack, Walsh, Cripps as part of this.

3 guys that live and breathe footy, work their tails off and leave it all on the field and training track, play hurt etc etc.

Apparently leaving because they hate their coach who strangely enough is exactly the same.

Ever considered they might be leaving or wanting to leave because they are competitive animals (like their coach) and want to get away from the 12 or so others in the squad that are just happy to be there?

All i'm seeing is GW as another scapegoat. When everything goes to poop it will be all GW fault.
Relationship? Our board has a relationship with themselves.
You know absolutely nothing. Making glib statements unsupported by any facts doesn’t help your cause.

Assume what you want mate. I wasn’t discussing anything with you by the way. Maybe take a deep breath or two. Geez.

I'm with you. I really have reservations, and I feel we'll be sitting flat for another year and probably even worse off, if that is possible.
I'm hoping we have a massive plan B in waiting and we are simply treading water atm

I'm pretty calm right now, have backed Voss all year. I'm one of about 3 people on this board not hunting for reasons to twist GWs decision.

Common sense prevails.

You left the bit out where they didn’t have a bunch of top end talent wanting to leave.
The suggestion that a “bunch” of top end talent want to leave is being perpetuated by those who have little knowledge.
These guys want to win - and are going to be unhappy and frustrated by our ineptitude.
But too many conflate the frustration into “they want to leave”. And if any of our top five players did want to leave - it will be on the club’s terms.

See you all here with the same problems next year. Useless decision by the club. Anyone who knows a thing about football can see that other clubs are so far ahead of us in organisation and gameplan, its not even funny. Cue the exodus of frutrated players and another wasted year in 2026.

I'm guessing you know everything. You have no clue whether i'm right or you are right but i will back me in going on the boards track record and credentials.

Nope, but still much more than someone who is totally disconnected to any source of reality.
Good luck with backing yourself in based on no evidence or facts - usually works out well.

I will just leave this here.

No matter how many capable assistants we put into place ultimately Voss makes the final decision and implements his game plan or system.
Which we’ve all seen how well it works?
It’s just bewildering that GW could have recommended Voss to be retained, his reputation is on the line.

You know that’s not even accurate? There was a Brisbane poster who said all the young guys who left Brisbane did because of the playing group at the time. Tom Rockcliff was a prominent player at the time and was accused of “hazing” young players which is the main reason the 4 or 5 young guys left at the same time (Polec, doc, yeo and karnezis etc).

His reputation is on the line, and he still retained Voss. Maybe that’s saying something?

Cook and Wright, I said I would stand by whatever decisions were made as they would informed and made by qualified people who didn't just come along yesterday. This has been 12 months of investigation and analysis, one must respect the recommendation.
Arguably two of the most highly qualified people in the AFL in this situation 🤷

There is quite a difference between being like something and the same as it.
