Lol, hope that was sarcastic, enough about MM, he will coach us into September for the 4th year in a row next year, then he, and only he, will make up his mind.

My guess is 2 more years then Bucks or Burnsy takes over, or maybe a dual coaching situation with the 2 of them.

Well consider that one took the media path and the other one was committed enough to pack his bags and move to the furthest western city in Australia for a coaching position.

I'll go out on a bit of a limb here and say that Mick has 3 more seasons left in him.

Theory behind this is two fold. Firstly, we've been building a young group of players for a few seasons now with the view of having them all peak at around the same time in around 3 years from now. I can't see him putting so much time and effort into the development of our young list and then walking out as they hit their peak. This explains moves such as leaving Brown on Buddy and Reiwoldt towards the end of the season. He knew, as well as us all if we're honest, that we were never going to get past the Hawks so why not expose players now and enhance their development further.

Secondly, this would tie in with a succession plan involving Bucks. Bucks has one more year left in the media and working in youth development and he has already expressed his desire to get back into the club fold. Getting back in the fold, as bad as this is, hopefully won't be through us. He'll be an assistant elsewhere for two years under an experienced coach and continue to view the game through different eyes and develop his own methodology. Then finally, after 3 more years, Mick has had the opportunity to have one last crack using the fruits of his labour and Bucks will return as the prodigal son and we all live happily ever after (with a premiership or two).

A good and a credible story. But we want a P'ship next year.:)

Wakelin should've got a run at Fev an Franklin... everyone says he would have been no good for him, but Wakelin smashed Barry Hall every time and just simply won most of the challenges put before him - he should have been given the big challenges.

Wakelin would have been too slow off the mark for Fev and Franklin. And Franklin would have been too strong in the body to body match ups.

Wakelin is a great match up for Hall. But Hall doesn't lead hard from the goal square like Fev and Buddy. So when Hall would go for those leads and mark it outside 50M it wouldn't hurt the pies.
