CT are you saying he is interested? Or should be given a ping?

I'd have him for sure.

Love to see Mick given specialist tactical a role at the club.

His record in suburban/country footy is phenomenal.

Is it time to appoint him?

He's a success wherever he goes. Give him a chance, I say. :thumbsu:

See if I started this thread I'd be slammed for putting words in Micky's mouth ..... I agree from talking to various people that know Mick well he would jump at it, but we have too many people around the Club that believe the rubbish sprouted about his life from a few years ago.

Get micky guys,he has got a fantastic footy brain.
And he will help us enormously.
Mission - get MICK MAGUANE for an assistants role, and GET PETER DAICOS AS WELL.

I'd very tentatively consider him for the role of the departed Guy McKenna - Put him in charge of scouting the opposition, and coming up with tactics that will work against them.

That said, there are certain things that are rumoured to be less than "ideal" about McGuane on a personal level, that might make you lean in another direction.

What about Gavin Crosisca? Surely it's about time for him to be brought back into the fold.

McGuane has too many drinking and gambling issues to ever be appointed again at an AFL club.

Mick McGuane was a forthright and upstanding bloke until that stint at Carlton ruined the man.:D Shocking culcha down there don't you know?
That said if any club can straighten him out we can.

 McKenna was our midfield coach, not our forward scout!?!

I'd be happy to have McGuane as an assistant coach, I loved him as a player and nothing in his coaching record puts me off.

No ! that was years ago since then, he has taken up a coaching roles everywhere he has gone the results have turned to gold and premierships (admmitedly on a regional level ) have followed. He has brought premierships to the worst regional sides in Tassie and Victoria.

He has got an excellent footy brain plus he is a legendary collingwood premiership player, and we need more of our own in these assistant coaching roles.
Success breeds success.

That is why half of Melbourne has chased him for a decade for gambling debts.

He had his wages at Ch 7 directed to his creditors and then Ch 7 let him go as a commentator as they had enough.

Find out why he left the Eastern District League.

He still has the same issued he always had.

No thanks.

Fair enough if what you say is True.
Are you sure?

Unfortunately, for Mick's sake, what JRF says is true, at least to the extent of my knowledge.

He is a nice bloke and a great coach but his off field habits will not sit with any league club.

You can take what i say or leave it, I don't care, but he will not get a job with the Pies.

Speak to the President of the Essendon District Football League Ian Price and see what old man Price has to say about Mick McGuane. Lets concentrate on Micky NOW not yesterday.

I play for Keilor ( The team mick coaches seniors at ) but i play junior level. He pumped us up at training about our prelim game, he was really inspiring to all the players.

He is in debt up to his arm pits, and yet can be seen at the races in the off season and drinks like there is no tomorrow.
