Did that article confuse anyone else? They had the ultimate team with no special write-up for each player, then listed an incomplete Alternative team and did have write-ups?

Very interesting though. Gotta make you wonder how the current boys would feel reading it.

At first I thought it was a matter of quality seasons strung together holding him back, but Cloke made the alternate one...

Cousins is an interesting omission from the ultimate team as well.

I think he wouldn't pick anyone from the draft of 2005 onwards are they are too soon in their careers to properly judge, hence no Pendles etc.

Why it is a good read, it shows that MM still has his "favourites".

The only criticism I would have is the Full Back position.

Who here would rate Ashely McIntosh ahead of Simon Prestigiacomo, regardless of the 2 flags he played in.

I would, McIntosh was a brilliant full back and could not only stop FF's but have long runs down field, something Presti doesn't do.
McIntosh could also go forward and play as a CHF or FF

Mmm.....I guess he's still pretty young, but then again Travis Cloke got a mention in the alternate side

In the paper, the ultimate team had a write up for each player, the alternative team was in a different article. 2 double page spreads.

I was very very surprised not see Wakelin in either of those sides. Understandable in the bests side (although he'd be stiff) but just mind boggling in the second team that he didn't make it.
