As we all know the first 3-4 rounds were purely getting in the appropriate cash cows (i.e Hill) while also counting on those in your originally selection. Now as round 8 draws closer this cash cows have all peaked and very little is avaliable for a downgrade.

Palmer, Rioli are still a week or two away but Browne is tempting and is a good option for those in desperate need of cash.

The forwards are very slim-pickings for downgrades for those that have held onto hill (me being one) in hope of another money-making prospect rising through the ranks.

This thread is to simply alert others of those cows just about to peak and others that are ripe for the downgrade.

The more popular cows -
Palmer: 3 weeks if he can hold onto an 80 average
Rioli: 1 more week
Houli: 2 weeks in him if he can keep his average of 70
Tippet: 2 more weeks, maybe more if he can keep current form
Hill: Gotta go, NOW. Losing money as we speak
Masten: 3, maybe 4
Armitage: At least 6 weeks away, handy reserve
Ibbotson: Still got lots in him, the whole backs situation helps his cause
Wonnamiri: See above
Gamble: 4 weeks away
Taylor: 4 weeks

Add Bird to that list, his negative breakeven last week was met by a score of 35 so unless he pulls out continuous scores, you have to think he will peak soon. His breakeven this week is 22 with an expected change of +$8,200.

Myers as a back is also someone to look at if he doesn't get dropped once McVeigh and the other injured stars return. Most BigFooty Essendon supporters have said they rate him highly. Also the news that Peverill and Johnson will get limited opportunities works well for him. With a debut score of 52 as a back. He beat Gram and Mattner in my backline lol

Another thing to keep in mind, once you hit 10 trades or less you must consider rookies that will get heaps of games and can be reasonably good backup, because we all know what happens late in the year.

I have currently:

Wonaman/Taylor/Edwards:
Possibly will keep Wona as long as possible.

Palmer/Masten/Bird:
Bird will go this week or next. Probably keep one of Palmer or Masten, both in crap teams and should continue on for most of year you would think. Big decision wether too grab Browne or wait a week or two for Cotchin?

Rioli/Gamble/Tippet:
Thinking of dumping Rioli this week for Neagle maybe, probably keep Tippett long term.

Of course things can change quickly, if Bartel happens to have a really crapola game then one might have to scramble for some decent cash, which would have to come from Palmer/Masten more than likely.

Maybe starting with 3 rookies onfield from the start will payoff later.

Anyone with Bird/Hill/Rioli should start getting rid of them this week.

I'm counting on Gamble going up in price more than Hill will drop this week. Will be keeping Bird until he gets dropped.

If you can afford it, Tippett and Harry Taylor would be good backups for the rest of the year.

Wouldn't be bad if another Ricky Petterd came through.

just hoping cotchin can get picked by this week or the next. not picking up browne because

1) houli can still make more cash
2) browne is less of a certainty to play more games than cotchin is IMO.

So what you guys are saying Hill MUST GO ASAP?

I have used my trades for this week and have Hill as Emergency with Tippett and Rioli starting on ground.................

thats a lot of cash sitting on the bench, in Hill. You should get rid of him asap (probably should have a week or 2 ago) as he is dropping in price and you can make heaps of cash either downgrading him or upgrade to a premium that has bottomed out (eg. BJ)

NEVER EVER trade before teams come out.

As for Rioli, he might not go up much in the next few weeks, but I don't think he's peaked for the year. He's averaging 70 with only one bad game, which was last week. He probably won't go up much this week or next while that 52 is in his system, but if he keeps up that average he'll probably be approaching 300k when he peaks for the season.

Why have u used ur trades already? You should always wait until Thursdays teams have come out to avoid any unwanted surprises after you've traded.

I used it coz I am reasonably comfortable with the make-up of my team. I'm currently just making improvements to the team i.e. my backline and forward line.

The reason why one of my trades is gone is the fact that I finally decided to make a move to get rid of Alwyn Davey + some money in the bank to upgrade to a good forward in O'Keefe.

LOL, refer previous post with my explanation.

The trades I am making are calculated trades of which i'm using my cashcows to upgrade/downgrade etc. I am looking to upgrade Rioli or Tippett over the coming weeks to hopefully Brad Johnson (if his value doesn't rise tooooo much).

I agree with most people in that Hill needs to go this week (especially if you dont have either BJ and J Brown)

Of players that haven't played yet the one to look out for should be Cotchin from Richmond. The sooner he get's his first two games the better!!

ROGER THAT!!! I am getting excited that my 2 boys sitting on the pine in Cotchin and Coughlan will be getting more game time! I've been copping a few donuts over the last few weeks so hopefully they can repay my faith in them!!

I'm not saying they aren't good trades, but what if you log on tomorrow and find out O'Keefe's been injured?

If that did happen, that would not be cool at all LOL

I just can't help myself sometimes ;) the only thing that I have to say for all this behaviour of mine is that I have each of my trades mapped out and am planning to stick to that plan to have my ultimate team by Round 18-19.........
