As we all know the reason to the Eagles good start to the season is the strength of our midfield.
Do u guyz think that in the future years our Midfield could match the likes of Brisbane and other top clubs.

yes, it could be as good if not better!

its quite hard to tell, because currently Brisbane's midfield is as good as midfield as there has ever been.

But our midfield could quite easily be as good if not better than theirs in future years.

Our big strength is not just out small men in the middle though, but our small men all around the ground such as Wirrpunda, Banfield, Phil Matera, Sampi and co.

If we can at least develop our talls into solid players who can provide a contest, we'll win most ball at ground level.

In saying that, if we can develop our talls into good players, then we will have a very good side, in fact an extremely good side, in around 2 to 3 years.

IMO it's already the third best midfield in the league and considering Cousins is probably the oldest at 24 then you could say our midfield could be the best in as little as a years time. Cuz is 24, Fletch I believe is 23, Judd 19/20 and Im not even sure if Kerr has turned 20 yet?? Throw in Wirrpunda who is also only 24.

None of those guys have reached their prime yet and we are easily in the top 5 midfields in the league. Bodes well for the future.

Honestly i think that midfield group is the secret envy of every coach in the land, including Brisbane who have peaked.
All 8 are AA material and in my mind are about 10 games away from being able to dominate anyone in the center.

He is the big difference this year. No disrespect, but none of those players look as good when Cox is in the ruck

sounds harsh but its true, and its no disrespect to Cox. At the moment no ruck is in better form than Gardy, and in fact, probably no player is in better form than him period.

you seem to focus quite heavily on the dockers CJ3. Any reason for that?

in the 60's, 70's, 80's itwas the COmmunists, in the 90's Islamic fundamentalism and now in the 00's its the Freo dockers.

They are weapons of mass self - destruction watch out for them.
