I can't stand them. I only get them after I play sport which I can't understand. First of all I get a spot in my eye so my vision is interrupted. That lasts about half an hour then I get a pounding headache. So as soon as I get the dodgy vision, I take a panadol (or two ... or three ...) and lie down for a long rest. Works like a charm. Except when I'm at school and I have to lie in the stingy sick bay beds, I can't conk out then.

Do you get migraines and if so, how do you treat them?

Used to get them about twice a month; not sure if they were actual migraines or just really terrible cluster headaches. They would always be on the left side of my head, right above my left eye. I always got them late in the evening (8-11 pm) and they always lasted about 30-45 minutes. In the worst cases, I would feel a bit dizzy and queasy and became extremely sensitive to light and sound, to a point where I needed to lay down in a room in the dark and have a wet rag over the left side of my face.

I actually began keeping a log of them for a few months, and charted things like what I ate, what I did that day, severity, etc. Never really found a pattern in terms of what may have caused them, but I'm happy to say that they have gotten a lot fewer and farther between of late.

Used to get them all the time when I was younger, I found going to a Chiropractor and getting my neck manipulated helped heaps, also stayed away from the OJ.

Might start doing that! It's a good idea.

feeling better now

My aunt gets them so bad she has to be hospitalised...she gets them almost daily and they don't know why
She is really sick right now due to them...and could die...cause she hasn't been eating or anything due to the pain etc, its not good at all (except for the fact most of my family hates her as she deliberately split my grandparents up and married my grandad)

I get small ones every now and again, but once I vomit they seem to go away. My aunty used to get migraines really bad til one day she decided to go to the doctors, they did cat scans and the works and found out she had a brain tumour the size of an orange behind her eye. She was in hospiatl for about a month, they operated a lot and thought it would be a mircale if she survived, she pulled through, only having a small stroke along the way. She is getting better gradually.
So it might be a good idea to see a doctor just in case, it probably isn't anything and I don't want to scare you but it's better off to be safe then sorry.

I usually get them when things are really stressful somewhere, and at least once a month. Nothing i take works, not even Panadeine Forte, and its simply a case of going to bed and staying there - not that i can sleep!

I had a migraine at the first Sydney - north game this year. I threw up after the final siren.
If Cressa's shot had missed, I think most of the ground with have thrown up.:p :p

The ironic thing is Destructive hadn't been drinking at that game, but he still threw up. Which contrasts to the Geelong and Port Adelaide games, where he (and me) were completely blotto to the point of paralyticism.:D :D :D
