Love the guy but he may have cost us the game with his big mouth.

Why shoot your mouth off, especially to a power hungry dweeb like McBurney and even worse, when you haven't got a case???!!!:mad:

It was clear he didn't touch the ball!!

He's always been one to argue with the umpires and on this occasion he has cost us a goal.

Poor form Milburn.

In a grand final you'd think an umpire would have more balls than that. McBurney you're a ****ing flog. Cost us a flag. ****!

no it wasn't. Telling an umpire he made a mistake is hardly worth a shot from the goal square. The saints boys argued the poster and we didn't get an extra kick at it.
sorry I didn't know you were there listening to the verbal exchange. Please enlighten us with the exact words because if he swore at him or persisted after being warned to stop it is a free pure and simple. I'd be celebrating the win and let it go.

mate if frees were given every time a player swore at an umpire the game would go on longer than a test match. maybe you should go back to your own board and mind your own business, rather than trying to rain on our parade w***er.

umpiring was very fair today

exhibit
a: selwood handballas out of a pack and it goes over the boundary line untouched, free against

b: milne kicks the ball 20 to touch, with no player within 50 minutes, no free

Poor form Ciaobella - crap decision by a overzealous umpire - anyway Milburn should be kickin oin next year - disappointed if he wasn't

Soft free kick. May have been the correct call to the letter of the law, but they rarely pay it. (Except for that incident where Dustin Fletcher was given that free against for a seeming look at the umpire. WTF?) I don't know why you'd start paying that free kick on Grand Final day either. Milburn should have let it go, but still an ordinary call from the umpire.

how about the first decion, bartel or selwood, on his knees takes the ball in the centre square after the bounce, and pinged for holding the ball. There were about 3 occasions of St Kilda players holding it if you wanted to adjudicate by such letter of the law. St Kilda were also given the benefit on one more deliberate also.

St Kilda definitely had the run of the umpiring. Seemed one of those days, especially the first half, where the umpires just had to put their stamp on the game.

Those of you who were there today saw Dash coming around the ground about 50m behind everyone else, save for Moon. He shook hands/high fived pretty much everyone on the boundary in something that to me looked like a "thanks for everything guys" kind've gesture. Really hope he stays on, but won't be surprised if he is done.

That Selwood deliberate was a crock of s**t. If he had laid on top of it, it'd have been a free kick for holding the ball, but when he handballed it out, he had Ling and Harley standing between him and the boundary line, so it could've been argued that he was trying to get the ball onto one of them.

How was Tim Lane's commentary though? He seemed perfectly fine with a few Geelong players getting pinged for holding the ball after having little or no prior opportunity, but when a Saints player got pinged for exactly the same thing, he had a whinge about the perceived lack of prior opportunity players have had this year. What a ****wit.
