I have zero problems with the Dogs letting him go for draft capital. The one plus that Smith had going for him was his speed, big gamble now his done his ACL.

There is about zero chance of Dogs getting a top 5 pick for him if he leaves. Hasnt been good enough, off field issues and now coming off an ACL.

It's mostly "he ****ed off to go on a tanning holiday midyear, made his trade request public half an hour before the B&F, gave the club the finger on the way out, and has shown none of the grace and decency that most traded players have towards the club that drafted, developed, and supported them". Yeah, depends a lot on the Dougie stuff. If Port get rejected (entirely possible imo purely due to how much pressure is on the AFL atm re NGA's etc) then I'd imagine they'll be loading up every pick they can to get in range of acquiring him. He's a seriously special talent.

Boring, I know, but it all depends on who he nominates (if he does). It’s a crap system but once a club has been nominated it’s very difficult to drive a hard bargain for a pick that club doesn’t have.
