Over the last couple of days , one thing has become quite apparent . Greg Miller has made a number of comments which suggest two things .

A/ He is tied pretty closely to Casey . and

B/ He is very concerned about the way Schwab is destablising Richmond with his current push for power and not waiting until January . Hence , sandbagging his attempts to hire the best coach for the Richmond footy club .

Unless there is a genuine comprimise between Casey and Schwab in the next 24 - 48 hours , I have a real gut feeling that Miller will walk sooner rather than later . Lets face it , how can he continue on, with such an uncertain future, in his pursuit of our next coach ? The whole situation would become a complete farce . I really sympathise with him .

Where will that leave us if he walks ???????

Imagine the embarrassment if we got one of the best in his game and then didnt allow him to stay and do his job.

His real value is in this critical time when he is capable of really going for someone we want and getting them to the club. He did with Brown and was so close with Solomon.

I dont know why Schwabb is pushing for Welsh and Wood to be part of the coaching selection. With Parkin and Miller they dont need others in there.

Im half waiting for that headline myself actually and was shocked to read about him considering it.

Ive heard we could almost have had Wallace at Richmond by now except for the going ons.

I don't think it will be his ties to Casey that drive him out. More likely the frustration that he has been working his guts out trying to build a culture of stability at the club, only to have all this blow up in his face. The frustration seemed pretty evident in his email to Pharkoff.

I wouldn't want to guess as to how this will all pan out in the end for the competing forces, but one thing seems likely... there will be no compromise from either side and the inevitable battle will begin.

And if the events go this way a likely outcome could be that we lose both Miller and Eade or Wallace or whoever, and be stuck with the parasites that seem to be driving this club further into crisis.

If we lose Miller, we can kiss this club goodbye.

It will show that not even the best in the business can get this club up and running, and i will seriously doubt whether we will last longer than the Bulldogs without him.

If Miller goes, because of Pahoff, he better leave the country for good, because i am quite sure there will be 27,069 people calling for his blood. And i will be leading them.

why do people still go on about pahoff , he is out of the picture now with the ticket revealing themselves..

Oh FFS!!!

Miller this, Miller that.

Richmond supporters have always been accused of suffering from a messiah complex. Kevin Sheedy as coach will save us. Miller as football director will save us.

The problems at the club are bigger than one man.

Yes Miller is the best possible football director we can have. Yes I love him to death. And yes I suffer from a messiah complex.

BUT!!! He's been acting very childish in the past couple of days implying that if Casey goes he may take his ball and go home too.

As far as I'm concerned, if he thinks he works for Clinton Casey and not the RFC, then FK him OFF. If he'd rather be on Casey's payroll than the RFC's, like Mark Brayshaw is, then let him do so.

No man is bigger than the club!!!

Last week, I had the utmost respect for his services. This week it has been halved.

TOO, maybe something was lost in the translation.

Miller is making noises this week that he may not want to work for a board that is not run by Casey. Which is also the point of this thread posted by IDGAF that Miller is tied to Casey and if Casey goes, so may Miller.

My point is that he works for RFC, not Casey, so irrespective who the pres is, Miller should be indifferent. Its the club that employees him.

Where exactly in my post did you get lost?

By the by, the only person on the board that knows what Millers package is happens to be Casey. One of the reasons Schwab and co resigned is because Casey refused to share with the board (other directors) what package he had negotiated for Miller.
How's that for accountability and corporate governance?

And that's how a football club loses $2m a year despite having over 27k members.

I am totally in support of Miller going public against Pahoff. However, if he packs up and leaves with Casey, and joins Casey's payroll outside of football, as is the current case with Mark Brayshaw, he has no credibility as a so called football professional.

1980, you didn't just hit the nail on the head, you SMASHED IT!

If Miller wants to leave and be part of the 'Casey' regime, nothing we say here is gonna change it.

One thing is for certain though, Greg Miller has been responsible for a lot of the talented youth that has walked through the doors at Punt rd, and IMO he is the man that can bring us back from the brink.

I am just hoping that a bit of common sense prevails and that light starts shining again at the end of the tunnel.

yes miller falls under the same umbrella like i said.however who employed miller? Casey!
i,ve read the miller letter and to me he has some valid concerns.its not that he wavered from the fact that he wants this club to succeed and the EGM would set us back.i can understand his frustration.
as for millers contract you are probally right but thats an issue between casey and schwab.
and the very fact that schwab has said he would like miller to stay tells me that schwab altho he has issues in what you said is willing to forgo this because he knows if he is percieved as being responsable for miller leaving then his chances of becomiong pres will diminish despite casey,s track record.

thats the way i read it anyway.

cheers!

Stog, at the end of the day, I think sanity will prevail & a compromise will be reached at the end of the year.

Casey will say I'm not going to resign on the spot, but I will agree to a managed exit over the next 12 months.

Miller will stay on and continue to do the good work he started.

But for FFS, if it were to be the case that Miller leaves on the basis that Casey leaves, then how committed is he to the RFC?

Well that is the main point there i think.

I think we will see Miller stay, for the simple reason that he has worked so hard to get this club back on track, and i know he is a man that likes to succeed. He wouldn't want to see all of the good work he has done go down the drain.

Thats the way I read it too.

So now that an EGM is unlikely, and an AGM will be conducted end of year, Miller should be fine. Even if the members kick out Casey at the end of the year.
