a run down of what was asked and said!

GL:any truth?
GM:only truth is he,s out of contract.has had others on his doorstep.[cats for one].
brad has been looked after and is sure he will be at tigerland.
GL:any chance of ottens plans a further down the track in regards to other offers.
GM:more or less took a snipe at sydney in regards to ray hall last year.[sounds like we wont trade with the swans under any circumstances]
players will have a training run next week [i think] under TW

thats about it!

Cheers!

I certainly hope he stays, although there was an article in one of the papers today by Greg Denham that suggests Sydney are very interested.

G'day Tiger folk. Hope you don't mind another Bulldog supporter intruding on your board. I promise to behave myself!

I heard the Miller interview as well. I also heard Patrick Smith suggest recently the Bulldogs are making a play for Ottens. If that is the case, and assuming Ottens would be interested in coming to the Bulldogs, I think we would be in a better position than most of the other clubs to satisfy Tiger requirements for a suitable trade.

I think our bargaining position is better than the other interested parties Geelong and Swans. We could offer pick 6 in any proposed deal and that is significantly better than any pick the Cats or Swans could offer. There is only Hawthorn who could trump us on that score and I'm not sure how willing they would be to enter the fray here.

Another aspect of this is Ottens medical history. He has had back problems so obviously that would be a concern. He hasn't realised his full potential for whatever reason. So this needs to be factored into Bulldog consideration when trying to negotiate a fair deal.

So if pick 6 was on the table would the Tigers be interested?

Everyone will be interested. A No. 2 draft pick with quite a few seasons experience under his belt, and still quite a bit of untapped potential would have most clubs salivating. Although he hasn't ripped the world apart to date, I hope we get properly compensated if he is to leave.

lol. i just replyed to your post on your board.
i would and miller no doubt would be very interested in pick #6 :)

cheers!

I'd definitely be interested if pick 6 was on the table. My first preference is to keep Brad, but if he goes I'd rather deal with someone like the Doggies or the Crows who have more of what we need on offer (ie high draft picks, good young players). The deal from Sydney is apparently Saddington and a pick, which to me isn't enough given Saddington's recent injuries and where Sydney's first round pick is.

And I've heard rumours too that Ottens' injuries are worse than people are letting on, hopefully this isn't the case but you never know.

I'm sure if a poster on a footy forum website knows about some injury than medical officiers at opposition clubs might have an idea
