After both Amazon Germany and Italy put Mirror's Edge 2 on their website for pre-ordering (before the former took it down), an internet detective has found that a page exists for Mirror's Edge 2 on the EA website.

I'd say this is going to an Xbox exclusive, revealed at E3.
 
Wasn't this supposedly cancelled ages back?

I'd welcome a #2, first one was pretty decent. Guns sorta ruined it though. Hopefully they just stick to the freerunning aspect this time.

Did my first playthrough only firing one bullet. That's the way to play Mirror's Edge.

I'll be pretty ****ing excited and pissed at the same time if this is announce and a ****ing ONE exclusive.

Mirror's Edge is genuinely one of my favourite gaming experiences. Rough as guts, but felt like a flawed look into the future of gaming at the time.

Would be in my top 50 of all time easily.

I don't get why MS would have any reason to invest in something like ME2.

Respawn's title I can understand after how well IW did with COD and the whole MS involvement there.

But Mirror's Edge wasn't exactly a profitable game for EA in the first place and MS aren't exactly one of those companies that likes spending for niche.

I'd place more money on Respawn's title being exclusive than this one.
 
Wasn't that fussed with the first so i don't think a second will get me excited.

Bring much loved cult classic back to next gen console

Gain instant hardcore gamer love.

They pull that and say BG&E2 and this and they'd shift consoles to a certain type of gamer.

But we're talking about a very niche title with a still small market.

I can understand a company like Nintendo rescuing Bayonetta 2, as that suits their MO.

But this one doesn't for MS. Niche market, not really mainstream gameplay, non-profitable original title, no MP (atm - but definitely no competitive you'd have to think), no real way of applying DLC.

That, and EA still aren't an exclusive game making company.
 
I don't care this is a slim chance at one of my favourite games getting a sequel.

It would be a bold play for them to grab some titles for games strong sections of the gaming community want as sequels.

They grab a couple cult titles and grab their entire fanbase when people are tossing up between titles. I'd love to know how it sold in America, if it did better there than elsewhere it would lend the rumour more credence.

I'm in pure hope as to it being Microsoft's strategy. But I'm now actually going to consider watching EA's/Microsoft's videos.

VGChartz has it at 700k units in America, 1.02 million units in Europe.

No, which you'd have to assume means that it will be on all systems, since the time to announce exclusives was today.
 
Surely will be multi plat - do EA do any exclusives? Would have thought they'd be to money focused :D
 
Loved the 1st one (even got platinum trophy), will buy this too.

The newly announced Mirror's Edge game is set in an open world, according to Electronic Arts.
During a recent analyst call, EA Labels president Frank Gibeau called the cult classic follow-up an "open-world action adventure game." Nothing was mentioned about how an open environment would influence the gameplay.
EA revealed Mirror's Edge 2 at the end of its E3 press conference. If you missed the trailer, you can watch it here.
The game is confirmed for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. As the end of the reveal trailer states, Mirror's Edge 2 will release "when it's ready."

I tell ya what, this thing being open world and ONLY next-gen. Wow does that open up some possibilities.

We know Frostbite can do open world and big environments too which is great.

Hopefully the can add some form of random dynamic missions/events system that just makes this last forever, because I can easily see this as the type of game I would go back to for 10-15 minutes every now and the to just run around in an bask in its wonderful glow!

Maybe add some co-op on top of that too? And, well...

Almost cried tears of happiness when I saw the announce trailer on the E3 stream. Mirror's Edge is one of my all-time favourite games.

Dumbing down? We have barely seen the game, and the first wasnt that complex to start with if you didn't do time trials.
 
Yeah this doesn't worry that much.

Mirror's Edge as much as I love it, one of the reasons I love it was the potential it has as a sequel.

It was a rough gem, but so unlike anything I played before or after. As long as the game isn't turned into a shooter, then I'll be fine. I still want an achievement for going through with only firing one bullet!
