I dont know, given most of the better noise makers now reside about 15 rows behind the cheer squad i would say it is sanitized. All depends on who you have at the top. We need a Joffa ... lol.... he gets heaps of crap but lets face it they still have a more traditional cheer squad.
They where on the way to sanitizing things when i moved on from the cheer squad 15 years ago ;)

Do you recognise many of the current ones, or is it a totally new group from when you were there ?

I seem to remember in the 90's they were quite good. The problem is now they look either too young or people you'd see having scones and tea. You need a bunch of ferals (see collingwood) for them to be at their best.

No one left from my era. Well no one i remember anyway. We where part of the rouge element in the 80's so my type has well and truely been weeded out lol:D

bring back that jeremy chap, he had passion and didnt start no half hearted chants...they need a leader

I met some of the cheer squad this morning, just after the Sunrise appearance on channel seven.

They are very nice people and totally committed to the club.

I didn't mention any of the criticisms here against them.

If you have a problem with the cheer squad, go and JOIN them.

A fair few of them are flying to Sydney NEXT weekend to support the team. Are you?

Jeremy is back, and the cheersquad is back being a CHEERsquad.

Heck, you could clearly hear them on the tv coverage. That certainly hasn't been the case for the past 2 or so years!

could also hear the grog squad on the coverage :p

makes such a difference having Jeremy back
 
To their credit this week, they did join in the grog squads Alwyn Davey chant, mind you that has less than 10 syllables so it's hardly surprising.

Not this year. Though I was near them last year at the SCG. Rubbish.

They plan on supporting us in our game against Richmond at the MCG from Sydney? Ambitious.
