was this is a hot topic when he was delisted last year...Dont think there was any doubt what chubb brings to the table...."steel" ...One of the few tigers in recent times that stood tall when the heat was on...How many saving marks can we recount in closing stages or for the astute fans a goal when we needed one. I know we need to move on but it stood out back then that the ingredient didnt appear to be right with an emphasis on run and carry, @#$@ everything else. Well, let me tell anyone that wants to listen, we've lost our three games, opposition hasn't won them, coz we've failed to stand up.

I hope that this new breed will come to fill the void that chubba's exit created...Good Luck to young Kingy and Edwards...Eat'em alive boys:thumbsu:

Kellaway has played in as many team thrashings as just about any player in the AFL.

He is one of the worst when his side loses momentum, I don't think he would have made much difference. Gaspar in the same boat on the mental side of things.

Our players were weak by culture. Let's hope the new batch are different :thumbsu:

Richo isnt weak.

Hate to say it but mentally he is. He only missed against Collingwood because of the atmosphere as he ran in to kick. Against teams like the Bulldogs the booing is far softer and he will kick 10 straight.

It's hard to deny that it's Richmond culture to be weak-minded.

The kellaways were worse than the houlihans.

Was never a fan of duncan. How he played at AFL level with his skills is only something the RFC would put up with. His brother was marginally better.

it's history now, but for what it s worth he was a fine HBF, B&F winner and AA rep he stood tall on countless occassions however by a strange quirk his reputation appears to be tainted somewhat by his surname which I cant work out...:o

Duncan was better than Andy wasn't he? That was always my impression.

They were courageous players and would have been heroes if they were in a Grand Final team.

Leo Barry has nothing on them.

Only problem was they were surrounded by poor skills and people with a poor drive for success. This would expose any player with low skills.

I would argue that premiership teams need players of character with a big heart, courage, put their body in front of a Barry Hall - even at the expense of skills. These players are inspirational to their teammates. Unfortunately these players are useless when you are in a poor team and are not playing finals.

Polak is said to have similar courage to the Kellaways. With his actual talent he could be a very special player ;)

some of you guys have no idea.

AK is a lot better player than most of the hacks left in that team.

He had steel, was a solid defender, courageous, a great mark, and a better kick than most thought.

And he also had something that these hacks haven't got - heart.

Have respect for a great warrior.
