Well it is not quite over yet, Wilson lining up for goal but i think it is ALMOST safe to say we have pulled off the greatest victory for a few years, at least in the last 3

Am I happy or what ?! This is a time to rejoice! A great club win and also a great victory for those who have trusted Woosha and said all along that a coach can make all the difference ! I have to say that I doubted we could pull this one off but that pharmacist is a great believer on himself and the results are out there for all to see. This must be the biggest upset of the competition so far. Now just let's be gracious and not get carried away with this win, because we still have a lot more work to do.

Not only we won convincingly, we had a solid performance from all our guys. I thought the effort was evident from everyone, including the lesser lights and players who have been previously critiziced.

Josh Wooden is often critiziced by many people but I tought he had a first rate game today. He kept Akermanis quiet all day and he often won the ball himself and sent us into attack.

After a shaky start Darren Glass got on top of Bradshaw and Bradshaw had to be moved into defence.

As he gets more experience I like Gaspar more and more. I think we finally got a good player to play at CHF (Mtichell white was always better suited to HF flank). I reckon he may become with time and experience a true champion of the club.

Callum Chambers, in game 25, had another solid performance, including a goal.

Kasey Green is another one who did a good job during the time he was on the ground.

And of course the champions of the club, Peter Matera, Jako, Cousins, Gardiner performed just as well as we all know they can play.

At this very moment I feel like I'm on top of the world.

Goooooo Eaglessss!!!!!

Probably the best win ive ever been to!!

Wooden did an awesome job to keep Akermanis quiet and what about Banfield?? How good was he on Voss??

Full credit to all the players for standing up and causing the upset of the year

and what about Banfield?? How good was he on Voss??

I think it would be unfair not to mention the superlative effort Andrew Embley did on Voss for the first 30 odd seconds of the game :P

I saw him lined up on Voss at the centre bounce and thought WTF?

Fortunately the players sorted out their match ups rather quickly :)

Has to be the best performance from the Eagles for years. Every body stuck to their task manfully and a few or more above and beyond.Tooday had to be the noisiest crowd i've heard at Subi. since the game against West Footscray when Peter Sumich was nearly strangled It was great to be there

Yes I agree its definitely the most vocal game ive been to in the last 2 seasons.[

Brilliant Effort

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!:):)

What a magnificent effort from everyone today - our best win in ages and probably best performance in the last 3 years - the crowd was fantastic all day and the noisiest I have heard in ages.

I took my 6 year old lad to the game today and we had a ball together screaming and yelling and seeing the mighty eagles play with guts and determination all day - the pressure they put on the lions was phenomenal - chasing, tackling, smothering, diving into packs - the works.

Every player put in and did a job and the boys thoroughly deserved the big win.:)

Woosha and the selection committee were spot on - I thought Banfield should have been dropped after the last few weeks but Woosh put him back in the midfield and his effort was first class - one passage in last 1/4 when he sprinted down the wing to pressure a lions opponent was great - he was never going to catch him but the effort affected the kick. Josh Wooden was fantastic - his disposal lets him down sometimes but his brilliant run to knock through a point in the second 1/4 was inspirational - gave Power a 5m start and still beat him to the ball and knock through a point! He offered run and committment all day.

I could go on for ages like this - there were so many inspirational efforts from the team - I am really proud of the boys so far this year!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :) Great games from Gardy, Kerr, Cuz, Judd, Roo, Jako, Wirra, and of course Willo - the guy is a legend!!!!!!!!!! All round great team effort

I was really happy that Ch 10 showed the team song after the game (for the first time all year!) a proud and happy bunch and the rookies and injred guys all joined in!

GO EAGLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D :D :D

Yeah Carlyp - we were lucky we got an absolute pearler of a game. I feel a bit sorry for my mum & dad though - the 3 of us are members but they had a wedding to go to so my son and I went together instead!

My boy, Dylan likes Cuz and Kerry and Willo - he even said " who are those stupid men in white!" - cracked me up big time - he is certainly learning fast:D :D :D

What was everyones thoughts on richard taylors game, i thought he did very well, was very servicable indeed WHEN he was on, i did notice he wasn't on much.
Thoughts?

Richard Taylor was servicable off the half back flank for the first half.... didnt see much of him in the second half though

I think he should retain his spot though :)

Well what a game. Wooden played very well but might not even make my votes as there were so many good players. Gardiner dominated the ruck but his kicking sometimes let him down. Matera, Wirrpunda and Jakovich were fantastic and Cuz was Cuz. Kerr put in another fantastic game and shrugs off any thoughts on second year blues.

Gaspar continues to impress, was well on top of Leppa in the first quarter and then he got lost a little but to his credit resurfaced in the 3rd and 4th quarters to have an impact. Looks the good to play at CHF for years to come.

Kudo's to Banners who came back strong this week and played a great game on Voss. Black was shut out by Kerr and Wooden did a great job on Aka...Glass i thought should be moved off Bradshaw quick smart but again to his credit, he fought back well and ended up beating him so badly he was sent to defence!

Williams played well again, he is having a good year, now we only need Embly to be more consistent. Cox justified his inclusion....

I could go on and on...what a wonderful victory by the boys.

I thought his game was servicable, but I am glad the kick outs were given to Wooden rather than Taylor. No offence to taylor, but he is better in the midfield rather than defence.
