Mistakes/Regrets/Changes after Rd 1

Obviously a few would have a lot of regrets from the stuff up before lock-out and not being able to change players on you bench etc. but what are some of your selection regrets after Round 1?

Mine would be having Birchall & Jones (both 110+) in my side all pre-season, then changing them to Johncock (average) and Lovett Murray!!

Also dissapointed in Goodes score for such a high priced midfielder. (but he will come good)

Disappointed I didn't get to trade up to Mundy from Symes with the leftover cash I had, due to the site crash. Disappointed Symes played, because my two emergencies were far better.

The options i was tossing up between were

Symes vs Mattner
N.Thompson vs Bradshaw
Cross vs Hayes
Johncock vs Waters

I went for the latter in those 4 cases and seems to have come off pretty well. Only regret is not getting Geary.Disapointments for this round are Jones and Hall.

aarron davey big mistake. I never trade after round one but seriously might have too after his performance. His assett is his run and pace he looked as slow and lazy as andrew krakour yesterday. For some reason i thought he would kill it this year as he played injured last year.

Dropping B.Johnson to Akermanis to upgrade McNamara to Dyson (unless of course Dyson comes out and gets 180).

Downgrading Chappy and Browny to Birdman and Porpz to get Hayes into the midfield.

only mistake I made was subsituting Tippet onto field not Rioli, so that is 10 points lost, something I can live with... am 2107 points with 4 to go today.

I regret picking Tuck over Geary. And I thought Kennelly was injured... regretted that I didn't pick him up, probably will trade for Kennelly (blake out)

no way u wld trade out chapy and brown.. u already have them, they r set in stone i feel its a good move to get burton but not at browns or chapmsn expense u will regret it more and a wasted trade

Picks I may regret

Dew and Mundy I had in my team for a long time. Although not so sure Dew will go as well once Hodge, Lewis & Crawford all are back.

Picking Barry Hall and Ryan Griffen

Mattner and Newman I dunno about, think they will be solid but nothing too spectacular.

Houli on the bench, Griffen on the field. I think that might hurt me today.
Didn't get to swap Rooke out of my side (luckily, have S Thompson as a reserve, will see how he goes).
My philosophy of having one player from every side. Aaron Davey seemed the best bet from the Demons... he's the reason I'm not sitting 2000+ today.
Although I was happy with Chad Cornes as my captain, J Brown, Cox and B Johnson would have all been far better with the wonderful benefit of hindsight.

Still, my first year in and I'm learning the ropes. Should be on about 2100+ by the end of round one, so not too bad.

Spewin i picked Embley ahead of Chad Fletcher.

Jason Akermanis wasnt to spectacular. Neither was Ryan Griffen but i think they will be alright.

Absolutley gutted i left out Burton and Dew. I almost had them both. Just hoping that Aaron Edwards plays alright today.

Biggest mistake I made was putting Craig Bird on the field, once again proving that one game does not make a player. He looked so awesome in that first preseason game. Then again, my two reserves didn't do much better. Wish I'd been able to get on and change Grigg to Geary and Proud to NJ Brown. Picking up Hartlett at the last minute looks like it will cost me a trade.

Other underperformers included Symes (20), Schneider (43) and Hall (54). Otherwise I can't complain too much. Most of my guys have got at least 70. I'm in a much better position than I was this time last year when I forgot to pick a captain and emergencies and had Cox and NG Brown in the lineup.
