Similar to West’s debut, horrible forward line to compete with. I thought he did ok and his stats were better than Membrey.

He showed one important thing - he is a forward, which we desperately need.
He got to dangerous spots and competed.
An encouraging start.

I reckon we have to persist with McStay, Buller and one of Pod or West. Lack of speed hurts all four of them being in.

Negative Nancy! He showed good footy smarts and in a high-pressure game in front of 89K after wandering around Coburg's ground two weeks ago. If you can't see his potential, I don't know what you were watching. He should have kicked two and his passes were only centimetres away from being goal assists. I think he should play his role for the rest of the year as I don't see anyone in the VFL who can play his role. Hayes is gone for the year so give Pods a run at it and make an informed decision on his ability at the end of gthe season.

Westy showed nothing other than that strong contested grab in the first minute of the Swan's game. He seems to vanish for long periods of games to the point where I think he is off the ground. Big men have to be better than that.

I expected to see more than he showed after being in the system for four years. He will get another chance, but he has been disappointing in his three senior appearances to date.

For a player who's only been with us for around 2 weeks I felt he definitely showed some good signs. I think the main thing he's gonna have to get used to is the difference in the speed of the game compared to VFL, that should develop over time though.

Yeah writing him off after one is game is insane. Glad he got his goal, bad miss for his set shot but looked okay around the ground.

Nothing special, but for a first game it was not bad. West will get his chance back in the team, at the moment it’s about who performs well enough to stay in the team.
