He got wickets with shit balls back then, and completely took any pressure off of the opposition with the bulk of his deliveries.

This series, he's bowled more unplayable balls than I've ever seen, and his average delivery is now one that needs some respect, not contempt.

Amazing turnaround, and has been a joy to see.

One of the greatest sporting comebacks I've seen. The derision he faced from people in Australia and around the world was pathetic in itself and completely unjustified, and to come back from that low and be the best bowler in the world over the last four months is incredible. Batting has been okay too, and he's had some amazing highlights in the field. Will back him in to be Player of the Tournament at the World T20.

There was a session in the IPL with Johnson and Malinga opening the bowling and mostly bowling at Gayle. I swear it was as good as test match cricket. It was just after Gayle had broken the Pune bowlers in two.
 
What a turn around. I think most saw he had the potential to be anything, but he was yet to put it together on a regular basis.

This is why it's ridiculous to write off a guy like Hughes. If the talent is there sometimes it's just a matter of when it clicks.

The derision and criticism he faced was mostly justified, apart from a couple of good performances in tests he bowled a lot of loose expensive garbage. Credit to him for turning his form around this summer but lets not re-write history, a lot of people thought it was a mistake selecting him for the Ashes series just like a lot of people thought it was a mistake picking Marsh for this series.

Justified to an extent, but the level of malice and invective people were too happy to hurl at him when he was down was over the top. Certainly he faced more of it than any other out of form cricketer we've had over the last 10 years for no real individual reason.

I would have thought everybody in Aus cricket knew that, hell, most of the fans did too. It's usually about the head when players who are that obviously talented are so unreliable. Look at Shaun Marsh, it's ALL in his head.
