Anyone else out there got (because nearly everyone does) one where they just use the damn thing for,

a)making short calls only when necessary

b)getting calls and keeping them as short as possible

Has no ring tone other than *bbzzztt bbzzztt* is the size of a brick and has never sent a text message to anyone?

Really, if it werent for ermergency (like meeting Shinners at a pub) I wouldnt have one at all. Just another intrusion of modern life.

I have mine turned off while I'm at work (ie most of my life) - it drives me nuts sitting in an office with everyone's mobiles ringing on top of their work phone's ringing all day.

I also tend to screen calls and not answer it if I don't want to talk to people. People assume that just b/c you have a mobile, they should be able to contact you at ANY time in the day (including work) - I hate that attitude.

I have my mobile for my use when I need it - not when other people think they need me.

Never owned one in my life

never even made or received a call on one in my life

never even held one in my hand in my life.

never missed them, never will need one, never been a time when I've thought "Gee I wish I had a mobile right now"

Its not that I hate them, or I'm a grumpy old Luddite or anything like that - its just I've never felt the need to get one and so am content to just let the whole mobile phone craze pass me by really ...

I hear they cost a pretty penny to run too don't they ?

cheers

I have never had one, although I wish I did have one. I intend to get one in 2003. My calls would not only be for an emergency calls.
