This should be a cracking race. Disappointed with the 10:50 start from Ten.

Anyway, on a track where qualifying is so crucial it will be interesting to see what unfolds. A lot of cars will be on very heavy fuel loads - what if Minardi decide to 2 or 3 stop and run light?

I still think Michael will win, but don't be surprised if the traffic causes a real upset on the podium.

I reckon a few teams will decide to run light e.g Renault, Toyota and Sauber to try and get themselves into a points scoring position and remain there for the whole race.

if you had ask me at the start of the year which track is Mark Webber best chance of a unlikely podium then i would of said MONACO without a doubt

his performance @ monaco last year was the reason why jag wanted him & has never lost a race hear in F3000

Qualifying is paramount becase it is so hard to pass on monaco and if Mark can qualify anyware as good as brazil then a podium is more of a reality then a dream!

Webber was the fastest in todays free practise session.
Lets hope he can carry that form over into the qualifying sessions and the race.
Go Webber!!!!

My take:

Class on Friday - Farce on Saturday - Class on Sunday :p

Saturday qualifying is what has cost him the most. Well that and a couple of drive through/stop go penalties.

Monaco has first qualifying on thursday because the Formula 3000 race is on friday

I was a bit disapointed with the race as it was a bit boring for my liking. Nothing seemed to happen.
Good to see Montoya getting up for just his second career win as it means the competition is getting closer.
Engines problems once again ruined the race for Mark Webber. :(

That's the problem with Monte Carlo. The narrowness of the track means not many risks are taken by the drivers. Unless you are in the front two rows, you are going to struggle to win.

That's why Qualifying is so important for Monaco.

I'll make a prediction for 2004. Ralf out of Williams, Webber in.

Yeah that would be great Catman and not totally out the question. But Williams seem to support Ralf for some reason and I cant see why. Webber is a better driver in my opinion.
Also dont be surprised if Rubens is no longer at Ferrari in 2004, he is having a shocker of a year to date. Maybe to be replaced by Alonso or Montoya or Fishichella?

I'm impressed by Renault's performance this year.
They have stepped up from the mid-level teams (Jordan, Jaguar, Sauber) and are playing with the big boys.

I'm not really surprised though. It's not all that long ago that they were winning World Championships with Schumacher and Bennetton.

Mark Webber should get out of Jaguar. The car is a deadset lemon.

I don't know about that. The Jag is not going to be able to compete with Ferrari, Williams, McLaren overnight but the car is heading in the right direction. It has pace and once the reliability issues are sorted out they could be a competitive team. He could do a lot worse.

Renault and Williams were sniffing out Webber and ultimately that's why Jaguar quickly extended his contract to the end of 2005. I'd say both Fisichella and Alonso would be infront of him in regards to getting a drive at any of the top three teams.
