Monta Ellis' career could be over

More info coming in . . .
Warriors guard Monta Ellis has admitted that he lied about how he injured his left ankle, according to Contra Costa Times.

Golden State now knows that Ellis' ankle injury, which was repaired during surgery on Aug. 27, was not sustained "in a gym," and "it happened out doors and not while playing basketball."

The source did not reveal what Ellis told management he was doing when he got hurt, only that he "was scared to tell the truth at first."

Hmmm sounds likely it's relevant to a contract clause then.

Monta's ankle will be immobilized for six weeks, followed by at least six weeks of off-court rehab. That rules Ellis out for all of training camp and the preseason and at least the first month of the regular season.

12 weeks isnt the end of the world but it's a tough hit and will take few weeks at least to get truly back into shape extra. Actually yeah probably essentially behind the 8-ball for most of the season.

Al Harrington defending Monte Ellis.

“I mean, he could have stepped off a curb and broke his ankle. Whatever happened, happened, but I don’t think youth had anything to do with it. I mean, I ride jet skis and stuff I know I’m not supposed to, even though I’m 28.”

We lost to this shit?

What, and Josh Howard didn't just admit exactly the same thing months ago?

NBA is all about fat contracts and players spending free willed
honestly Monta Ellis has quite a career ahead of him
bankrupt ? Please i could only imagine the money he is on + the shoe contract etc
sure he injured himself and lied about it , only to escape large fines
which in turn he faced up to so eventually justice was delt or will be

And no not every black player "flaunts it"
Look for example at Dwayne Wade & Chris Paul
they are the face of both there franchises and neither have tatoos or shiny earings ?
Both have contributed millions to New Orleans after Katrina

So yes dont go stereotyping all african american athletes
Its only a few that have the luxury lifestyle and go broke

Hi Latrell Sprewll :) ROFL

Most of these guys wouldn't know it, but when their lawyers and agent throw the contract for them to sign with the shoe companies, they have in them, stipulations and clauses bases on games played and even performance based shoe contracts, eg more points more cashola.

If he is cut by the warriors for violating the CBA laws and riding a motorcycle or injuring himself in a way not acceptable, the shoe deal goes, the lawyers and agents go, all his fake friends go.

He now has to pay the money back to the warriors and shoe cmpanies for being in breach of contract and I doubt he's got all his money in term deposits, especially seeing as he just signed a bumper deal....it's spending time baby.

D Wade rocks shiny earrings, which debunks your whole theory IMO.

ROFL ahh shiiiet
I always knew Shaq would have a negative influence

No way is hes career over,
STUPID to even suggest
sure he would lose his money from Golden State and probably the shoe contract but lets get serious. His management would not allow the kid to spend all his money , if not the management then his family for sure.

And even if somehow he cant return to what he was , he will sign a euroleague contract between about 4 - 5 million and dominate on one foot.

I mean Dujuan Wagner is missing his colone and still is putting up 20 + points in Poland somewhere earning millions.

Bookmark it now Monta will average 20+ points for the year

Actually, he has only made about 1.5 million dollars in his career, and he had reportedly spent about 5 million in the offseason. If he losses this contract, he would well and truly be in the shit. As for shoe contracts, how much would a 2nd round pick who has only been a 'star' for a year be on? Not much is my guess....
