That is a f*cking outrage...if they are going to suspend everyone for using abusive language then half the players in the league will go this week, with the other half following the week after.

1 and 3/4 games for bad language...that is a F********** OUTRAGE!

He plead guilty,so probably not.I doubt the club would bother.If the penalty was longer they might've.

I think the penalty is fair guys, hopefully Moon-dog learns his lesson and moves on. And if this ever happens again then the club should come down on him heavily. It really is unexeptable for a player to let his club down like this, just for the sake of abusing an umpire.

I think it's fair what Mooney copped, as Mooney went NUTS…totally NUTS…3 minutes flat out abuse…no umpire should cop that, period.

People want to bitch about poor decisions which is fair enough, but no player should be going that crazy on the ground, at the umpire.

Leave that to the coach and club after the game, you’re only causing problems for yourself and your other teammates on the field.

That doesn’t mean that the umpiring of the game should not be without scrutiny or criticism, but no player on the field should EVER do what Mooney did.

Get your mind back on the game Mooney, you tool, and complain to the coach or whoever later. Raise an issue with the umpires association if you must…it’s up to fans to bitch and moan aimlessly, not bloody players.

For those who are interested, two guys running in the VFL reserves today got reported for abusing umpires.

• Coburg Tigers: Andrew Briggs (Coburg Tigers) for using abusive, insulting, threatening and obscene language towards umpire
• Sandringham: Duran Raman (Sandringham) under rule 19.2.2.(c) using abusive, threatening or obscene language towards or in relation to an umpire.

Don't know whether or not the level of abuse was of the same standard, but shall be interesting to see what these boys get.
