1.Moore does not have a prescence.
2.This is not Hailebury.
3.Improve what endurance ? He couldnt run out of sight on a foggy night.
Spot on about them being different players.Moore when he can actually get near the ball attacks it very hard and has no hesitation putting his body on the line.Schneider on the other hand is a skilled finisher who is a receive player only who very rarely wins his own footy and has always been suspect when it comes to the hard stuff.

good honest post, not biased one little bit...

You can't compare Schneider and Moore.
Schneider is playing in a team that has at least three players who can get over 30 possessions in the midfield (ala Monday night with Dal Santo,Hayes and Montagna) and move the ball so quickly to their forwards. The ball comes into to Adam soooo many more times than it does for Moore who has to scrap and use physical strength to just get a possession up forward as our midfielders are nowhere near the class of St Kilda's who play the lines beautifully and most players contribute to the inside 50's.
You put Moore in a top team and I have a feeling he would not be a whipping boy that some people have made him at the Swans.
Good luck to Schneider anyway,he must think all his Christmas's have come at once (so far in his time at Moorabbin).

We traded Schneider and Dempster and gave increased contracts to Jude Bolton and Darren Jolly and brought in Mattner who was still under contract at the Crows, on a new larger contract. If we had salary cap issues, we wouldn't made the Mattner trade, nor given the three contract increases I have noted.

Its a myth we got rid of Schneider for Salary Cap room (he wasn't on that much to clear that much room), we traded for him, so we could get a draft pick in the second round after trading our excising one for Mattner and Dempster asked to be traded and was included as a throw in to help the players request, otherwise he would of walked to the Pre Season Draft (where he most likely wouldn't of been picked up).

Sometimes logic needs to be applied to everything. But Schneider certainly wasn't traded to clear room in the salary cap.

Not quite correct- we did the Mattner deal first and due to his increased contract and Jolly's 4 year deal we were under severe salary cap pressure to sign Jude. Hence we offered Schneider and Buchanan or Jude for a 1st rnd pick. (ie we couldn't fit all 3 into the cap)

As there were no bites for Jude at the 1st rnd pick- it came down to what offers we could get. Unfortunately no offers came for Buchanan so Schneider was offered up and Dempster thrown in to secure the 2nd rnd pick.

No doubt the saints would be happy with Dempsters pre injury form and Schneider's current form, but too early to tell who came out in front as Mattner has been very consistent and Meredith is developing well.

I personally think it was a win win as we got the running half back (with consistent disposal) and a genuine, skilled midfielder we were chasing and the saints got 2 flankers that were keen to prove a point.

Jude wasn't put up for trade UNTIL after the trade for Schneider and Dempster was completed and once that didn't happen we STILL gave him a bigger contract renewal. That isn't the work of a team that was under Salary Cap pressure. If it was, we still would of made the first trade and traded Jude for whatever we could of got our hands on draft wise and not kept him and give him a bigger contract.

Plus do you really think Mattner's contract and its increase, Playfair's contract (we did trade for him as well) plus Jude and Jolly's contract increases plus adding the contracts of Barlow, Jack, Brennan from the Rookie List and the contracts of the three draft picks of Bird, Meredith and Veszpremi equal the total 2007 salarys that went off the list in Doyle, Dempster, Schneider and Phillips?

If were under salary pressure we wouldn't of traded for Mattner or Playfair who excided the salary cap space of the two that went out nor would we of given salary increases after that point. We had the space, but we decided to trade back into the second round as we made clear from the outset of the trade week that we would do (trade some of our players for draft picks) and allow Dempster to move to another club as he requested. If we were moving salaries we would of not traded in other players and traded out bigger earners, which Schneider wasn't one of.

Jude was up for trade from day 1 .... if we could get the right pick, we didn't and his contract increase also help tip out Schneider & Dempster.

I don't know the ins and outs and how much they are worth, as I am not privy to what offers we have had to counter/ match along the way, but we all know that adding "premiership player" to your CV puts your price up.

I found the article where Roos himself states we had issues with the salary cap- "There are also issues with our salary cap which come as a result of playing in the finals for the past five years"

Jude was trade bait first I remember bring heartbroken. Then even more so after when dempster was traded.
But Jude was first.

Even last year I remember a game against the Lions where he was the top goal scorer with 5, so it's not like he was bad last year, got over 30 goals I think.

He kicked 28 in total last year and I think the 5 he kicked was against Melbourne when they won by plenty...

Until he starts kicking 3's, 4's and 5's against quality sides in close games then I won't regret trading him. Actually I won't ever regret trading him because Meredith looks a likely sort (and we need players of that age to compliment having "no kids";))
