G'day all,
was just browsing through one of the AFL board threads which basically descended into a Richmond v WCE slanging match. The Tigers were having a go about having a strong culture while the Eagles talked about winning grand finals etc etc.

So that got me to thinking, would I, as a passionate Dees supporter, rather have a proud, strong cultured club, whose supporters stick by the team through thick and thin but regularly struggle on the field (ie Richmond - and no offence meant) OR a team that excels on the field, delivering premierships semi-regularly but with a known problem of culture issues (as in WCE)?

My immediate reaction was : Give me the flags any day. I want to see us win a flag ASAP but the more i thought about it, the tougher the question became.

Your thoughts?

Flag with a crap culture.

Sorry, but I'm all about winning. The players taking drugs isn't going to make me want to take them.

Richmond have the most loyal supporter base in the league, something we'd like to have. WC have premierships, we'd like that too. It could come down to whether you believe WC's premiership is tarnished as a result of the drug problems and i believe it has been. I want a premiership more than anything, but i want it to come the Melbourne way, through comitment and skill, and when i look back i want to proud as punch for the achievement the boys put in. If i was a WC fan, i'd be slightly dubious.
