It was meant to be the Carlton highlights of 2007. Obviously the wrong link. For those that can be bothered, if you scroll down a bit (if it opens with Anderson, scroll down a bit) and there will be highlights of our Blue Boys. Fev's tackle on that Saint scumbag and then the long bomb from the square to goal was a highlight, as was walkers running kick..

Fair cop. Anyone can make a mistake (attempts to insert smiley face but can't quite do it).

Stay on her good side EB , footy's not that far away , maybe u can get your chance to impress .:)
I have no idea who i'm meant to be impressing:D. I get confused considerable quickly!

If by impress you mean 'show off my media skills to the club' then my hopes are all up there!

I won't even touch base on the subject of the other possibility...

his hat also has a number 25 on the back of it..... I have a pic of him signing an autograph & he has his hat on backwards ala Lleyton hewitt.
Oh god Fev..:).

There are an estimated 700 000 carlton supporters nationwide.

We will have about 40 000 members next year.

But I would estimate only 500-1000 of us real Carlton tragics follow these forums in search of every bit of info/insight we can get.

Perhaps the club would like to spend it's resources in other ways than paying someone to provide us relatively few tragics with more insightful updates.

If any voulunteers would offer to do something on a weekly/monthly basis in a similar vain ( but more serious I hope ) to Mike & Dan the initiative may be welcomed by the club.

How many people would actually be interested in paying for an "off-season" membership which offered regular updates/ interviews, etc from the club. And what would you be willing to pay?

Just a thought...

A friend of mine was telling me last night a little story about his daughter and her fiancee going to some essenscum players wedding a few weeks back . Fev was at the wedding also and ended up going out with the couple (not sure if he had a companion although i'd imagine he would've) afterwards to party on a bit longer . They caught a cab and Fev said he could get them in anywhere but as it turned out he couldn't get them in anywhere simply because he wasn't carrying id with him . Although everyone knows who he is , they thought he was a bit full of himself and full of piss so they stuffed up his plans anyway . I think he said they eventually got in somewhere , but they spent a considerable amount of time in the cabs . He also said Fev was chain smoking , which would surprise me and went on to say while they were in the cab , Judd rang pissed as a fart asking whats happening and where are they partying , which at that point it all became blah blah blah to me anyway as it probably has for you too already but at least its some bullshit story to form your own opinion on i guess and some thing else about Carlton to read about . . . . . . it's a sad time of year aint it ?

They couldn't work Scotty into it.......maybe getting into a fight or something?
Lazy really.

I / we share your pain - there really isn't ever enough information at this stage of the year for the biggest of Blues fans. But it's been explained to me / us that the hit counts on the site are just so very low at this stage of the year - there's us tragics and the rest of the population (who may enjoy tennis, cricket, water sports etc. and not be focussed on JUDD etc, particularly right now) So of the 700,000, only a small proportion are looking at carltonfc.com.au and most of those are probably on here or TC / CSC or TBV trawling for training reports.

In 2008 it's also a new world for the Carlton Football Club - a far larger Communications team with specific, employed writers who I'm sure will be adding more articles when the readership returns. Club management is far more professional, and you never know, there may changes afoot with the website, both in structure and content. In addition, Tony De Bolfo is a great writer and I'm sure he will be rolling out more interesting stories as the year progresses.

I / we don't know what's happening with the Contibutors (other than the Blueseum guys who seem pretty regular) but that normally starts back up about now so we'll see if there's a role for us shortly. As for the post that suggested we weren't serious, you're probably right, but then again the popular articles (by hit count) are the ones where we mix information with some lighthearted questions. After all, who else but posters on this site and the other forums want the same old 'How are you going at training?' / 'How is your fitness?' / 'Tell us about the new drills' etc. questions answered each week?

Mike & Dan

Thanks fellas. Find it hard to believe the club doesn't feel it warrants populating the site with interesting news and comment over the off season because the hits are down. Websites have ratings periods now? Good grief.

I don't think it's like that - its more impact for effort. The Contributors are volunteers, y'know...

Seriously, this is a quiet time and yes, they gear up the website for peak demand as you would any business operation. Doesn't help us tragics, but that's part of the reason why sites like this thrive, particularly over summer. I wonder how many new members BF has had in the past month?

In the end, I'm not fussed really, as I know the Club is getting more professional and perhaps this is just part of it.

I have almost stopped going to the CFC website becuause of how little and brief the content is.

Maybe if the site included not only more info....but a supporters forum similar to this on BF the traffic would increase.

After the 06 draft W. Hughes gave a little insight into our selections......this year there was nothing from the RD.....only interviews of the recruits and a welc to the club.

I would like to see the CFC as the most visited website for Blues Fan's and would be happy to visit a supporters forum there.
Imagine how popular and easily acheivable for the club to organise a player or member of the coaching or recruiting staff to do an online Q & A for an hour each week in a supporters forum.

I suppose the thing we all must bear in mind is that much of the info we are all so keen for the club probably wants kept "in house".

How many websites in the world wait until there is traffic before they put up content to satisfy that traffic?!?!

I agree with Thylacine . Surely if they had more write ups , their ratings would jump . People probably dont bother because they know it would be unlikely that any new stories will be there .
Maybe, but more likely we'd just use it to take pot shots at whoever wrote the report because it doesn't agree with the training reports from BF and other sites..........we'll never be satisfied.:D

I suppose its everyones right to stand on their podium and give their opinion of CFC.

The reason people / supporters come to BF is totally due to the lack of decent written material on CFC, therefore, whatever is on there (less the interviews) you can gain else where. Therefore, I never go there. Which in turn means, a business that does not deliver what the customer needs / wants, normally either changes or becomes redundent.

You reap what you sow.
