More delistings and elevations.

Although I couldnt find the story, Aaron Bruce, Peter Faulks and Kristin Thornton have been delisted. That makes our full list of departures:

Matthew Beckmans**
Luke Brennan
Aaron Bruce**
Nick Davis
Peter Everitt (ret.)
Peter Faulks
Ben Mathews (ret.)
Dean Terlich**
Kristin Thornton

** = Rookie listed.

We might be offering a few of these guys rookie contracts, as this might just be a move to have enough for the draft.

Complete 2008 retirements and delisting here: http://afl.com.au/News/2008RetirementsandDelistings/tabid/13126/Default.aspx#depclub

Also, our rookie elevations so far are Nick Smith and Matt O'Dwyer. I hope Brendan Murphy gets one as well.

Well thats just what it said on the AFL website, so they made a Booboo if its true.
Yeah, I meant they made a booboo.

In any case, Bogan's been elevated along with MOD, and the rest are delistments/haven't been offered a position :(

I think we all know what Paul Roos needs to be in

That's not what I was suggesting. By all reports he's a gun, who was pushing for selection in his first ever season of AFL. That would suggest to me he should have been elevated.

Just because Murphy was not elevated does not mean he wont play firsts at all. Many of them get their first taste as rookies as there is nearly always a long term injury.

It just means to me they think there are others ahead of him in the struggle to be including in the regular best 22 - to say 28

One would hope White Grundy Schmidt Smith Laidlaw Barlow Brabazon and Merideth? get a regular go in 09. Playfair and Shaw are fringe also

The rules have been changed Corps!

A rookie can play after Round 11 even if we don't have any long term injuries. Probably only in for the GC team, but it'll be of advantage to all other teams as well.

It never hurt Leo Barry's career.

Difference is, Barry knows they are there and could once beat them. Murphy does not appear to have the awareness yet to realise what is around him in order to try and get around it.

One of the games I saw him play, he was pinged 4-5 times. If he can get this awareness though, he could become on hell of a footballer.
