Absolutely stoked for Tucky..

Although i'm a pies supporter, he is one of my favourite players in the competition..

The thing i find confusing is how they mention that he is back to his 2008 form..?

Before getting dropped last year about round 16, he led the competition in front of Gary Ablett for contested possessions..

And the myth about him butchering the ball, his average of 100 SC points in 2009 surely puts that to rest, and again this year his average is above 100.

Hope you boys offer him another contract, extremely underrated and a champion bloke..!

Zip I am unsure about, he one of the "what you seee is what you get" footballers. He isn't that flashy, doesn't kick amazing goals from nowhere, just an in and under workhorse.

I dont think too many would doubt Tucks ability to get in and win the ball, his main flaw in the last few seasons was his decision making and disposal once he got it. Last weeks game was the ideal environment for Tuck to excell in with the adverse conditions.

His awareness of Mitchell runing him down in the dying seconds a few weeks ago is classic Tuck.

I am keen for him to remain on the list come seasons end if he can tick all the boxes the coach asks of him:thumbsu:

If he keeps this form we will keep him for another year. But if anyone wants him for the right price they can have him.

Tucky has been fantastic since coming in Round 3. Eight games and 4 of those 30+ disposals. And been our most constant in the coaches votes. Polled 3 times. And only Lids and Jack are above him in DT points:thumbsu:

You need to gain a bit of perspective with all this tigerheads.
Invariably in bad losses they will hand out complimentary votes to a couple of players from the losing team. How they source those players is by the stats sheet and invariably it will be an on baller who is in the middle of the action.
I dont want to rain on Tuck's parade from last week, seeing as the grunt he offers paid off in those kind of conditions. The ensuing article is a standard feel good operating procedure by the tabloids. The same dudes that were suggesting that he cant cut the mustard even with the stats he gets are now suggesting he can. Maybe he can when he is playing in 100% mode. The problem with those types is, anything below that gets the media suggesting he cant cut it again. Lets see what unfolds over the season now. He might yet prove the doubters wrong. I would like to get odds on that not happening though. ;)

Gets a bad rap on here purely because he's a Richmond player. If he played for most other teams, he'd be lauded as a very good player.
He has his limitations as we all know, but the fact that he put his head down and bum up and didn't sulk, speaks volumes for his character.

And yes it does, and thats what we have been speaking up for the last 2 decades with alot of our list. A heap of character and not enough chararacter + skill in the for of the dustin martins and cotchs of this world for instance.
You suggestion that he didnt sulk is a little simple, when if you or I were on a list and had limited ability and then found yourself in the 2s and thought your days were numebered, what would you do to keep yourself in a pretty good job of a professional footballer? I know what i would do, exactly what he did. ;)

What about the Tigerheads here who have rated him all year? We arnt just jumping on the bandwagon now. I posted a thread at the end of round 7 on who we think our top five are. Tuck came in at 4 and his game againsed Essendon and Port could have seen him jump a spot. I should bump and upgrade it.

So far the top 5 up until round 7

Deledio - 30
Riewoldt - 23
Martin - 24
Tuck - 19
Cotchin - 14

The rest

Edwards-10
Jackson - 9
Newman - 6
Nahas - 4
Nason - 4
Cuz - 1
Connors - 1
Foley - 1

Amount of times in best players to round 7 "from the AFL web site" for comparison to our opinions.

5 - Deledio
4 - Cotchin
4 - Jackson
3 - Edwards
3 - Martin
3 - Reiwoldt
3 - Tuck
2 - Nahas

The thing that Tuck is usually criticised most for, the quick kick forward to no-one in particular, was the perfect strategy for the conditions last week. There's no doubt he can get the ball and throw a bit of weight around in the clearances, but on a dry day he still needs to think more about where he is kicking it.
