I can't download any music right now because apparently i need a newer version of morpheus from musiccity.com but when i download it i don't think it works. Anyone else have to download a newer version? If so can you link me to the downlaod?
I'm pissed off.

yes, musiccity.com to download the new version...

hmmm.. still getting used to it...
agree, its not as user friendly as its predecessor..

but, i really like the multiple search tool tho !! :)

the new version isnt as user friendly as the previous version in my opinion.
cant choose what type of things you can look for, well not that ive noticed anyway.

If you go to www.download.com and search for Kazza, its identical to Morpheus. If you have any downloads paused with the old Morpheus, Kazza automatically picks them up from where you finished.

All the people that had Morpheus are using Kazza during the transition period.

Once the new Morpheus is done, delete the old Kazza.

QT, what do you mean it's only a preview? Does that mean I can't download anything? lol
I downloaded the preview, it's pretty crap. I can't download anything. And I'm too paranoid about Kazaa  .

Yes, the only problem with this "new" version of morphues which uses gnutella servers etc is that you can't specify what quality of mp3/mpeg/etc file you want.

If you are worried about spyware, get yourself a little program called Ad-aware. It detects and removes all spyware files from you hard drive and system registry keys. I recommend it.

Download it here:

Hope this helps :)

I found that after clearing my computer of spy-ware using Ad-aware I can't open Kazaa, because some of it's parts have been removed. Had to reinstall Kazaa, with ity's spyware, just to get the thing running again!

Just a word of warning when using Gnutella based file sharing...

At work, our network admin guy & myself have been doing a bit of network sniffing, and capturing Gnutella packets (for the purposes of monitoring bandwidth usage etc etc).

Did you know that Gnutella allows other people to use your host (pc) as a conduit to suck down their stuff?
ie. Picture an extended star topology, where other peoples downloads need to pass through your pc to get to their destination (another pc in the same routing star).

None of that probably made a lot of sense to most of you, but basically it means that if your bandwidth at work is being monitored, and you use gnutella based clients, there is a potential for your next download of an mp3 to open up a path for some pervert on another network to use you as a conduit to download 'free hardcore pr0n' etc etc - do you really want that to happen to you at work?

It's actually a bit more complicated than all of that, but in short, be careful using this stuff at work!

Whereas at home, some of you probably ARE the perverts looking at 'free hardcore pr0n'!!!:p :D
