Steven Morris, Richmond, has been charged with a Level One Engaging in Rough Conduct Offence (125 points, one-match sanction) for engaging in rough conduct against Sean Dempster, St Kilda, during the first quarter of the Round 15 match between Richmond and St Kilda, played at Etihad Stadium on Saturday June 28, 2014.

In summary, he can accept a reprimand and 93.75 points towards his future record with an early plea.

Based on the video evidence available and a medical report from the St Kilda Football Club, the incident was assessed as negligent conduct (one point), low impact (one point) and high contact (two points). This is a total of four activation points, resulting in a classification of a Level One Offence, drawing 125 demerit points and a one-match sanction. He has no existing good or bad record. An early plea reduces the sanction by 25 per cent to a reprimand and 93.75 points towards his future record.

Steven Morris, Richmond, has been charged with a Level One Engaging in Rough Conduct Offence (125 points, one-match sanction) for engaging in rough conduct against Jack Steven, St Kilda, during the first quarter of the Round 15 match between Richmond and St Kilda, played at Etihad Stadium on Saturday June 28, 2014.

In summary, he can accept a reprimand and 93.75 points towards his future record with an early plea.

Please note, for where a player has been charged with multiple offences during one match, under the Tribunal guidelines the points for each offence where the player either accepts a penalty or is found guilty are added together to form a total amount. For each amount of 100 points in the total penalty, there must be one match served as a result. Please contact Patrick Keane at the AFL or via return email if you require this to be explained further for accuracy in relation to the two separate charges outlined above for player Morris.

Following these 2 charges Morris is without doubt out for the week unless he can somehow get at least one of them overturned. Probably a good thing anyway as I've noticed the last couple of weeks his shoulder has been giving him a bit more grief. So a weeks rest might not be so bad.

He won't get over a loose shoulder in one week. Get him into surgery now!

I just watched them on the Tigers site... they look like fair and square hip and shoulders?

Didn't notice them on the day.... watched the replay twice too and still haven't seen them.... were they bad?

Just watched them.... was the Dempster one even high? It looked like Dempster hurt his shoulder in that contest. Dempster did have bandages on later though I think. As for Jack Steven, it looks like the tackler pushes JS into Morris, and that JS was airborne... fuzzy footage though..

Just laughable if the AFL wasn't serious. Contact like this happens multiple times every game. How does the MRP pick out these as different?

It's a joke, it was rougher when I was playing junior football ffs....
I am all for making the game safe and in particular at junior levels. We don't want to see kids running around following a bad example and being thugs but unless my eyes were really playing up the first one was a shepard which is what you would be teaching kids to do and do it correctly. Outing players for the first one is f****** ridiculous and if the club doesn't take this on then they are as weak as p*** as the MRP. The second one is too grainy to see but going by the first that should be arsed out too!

Buddy Franklin from a couple of weeks ago. FFS this game is just totally rigged.
I wouldn't have a problem if Franklin got pinged, seriously.

The difference is that Franklin made contact to the head. If he was still playing for the Hawks, he would have been suspended. It was laughable that he didn't get a week. This citing is even more laughable.

The RFC must appeal this one on principle alone. And then rest Morris!
