Chad Morrison becomes a pie in a 3 way deal between collingwood - Hawthorn - West Coast:

Collingwood Traded Bo Nixon and pick 7 to Hawthorn for pick 10 + pick 37 , then 37 ontraded to West Coast for Chad Morrison.

what does everyone think of this deal to me , personally i would not have trade pick 7 but if that was fair to get the deal done , well at least we got pick 10 (just hope it ain't crap)

Happy with picking up Morrison. Happy with losing Nixon. I'm a bit annoyed about downgrading pick 7. Balme better hope that our first draft target isn't taken at 8 or 9

Yes, very ordinary games. Least impressive of our debutants by a mile.

Morrison
No, not for 2-3 years and played 15 or so games this season and was very very good. We have a very young list and can afford to carry a bit of experience in the midfield especially with Burns and Buckley getting on a bit. Admittedly lacks the legspeed we are looking for , we need to choose pick 10 with that in mind.

Morrison is a good pick up for the pies. He did his knees in 2001 and 2002 but they are pretty much right now. He's experienced and finds quite a bit of the footy though his decision making and disposal lets him down at times. Played very well under MM and got back to some of his best form in the last half of this year. Plus Bluey is also on the coaching staff so he shouldn't have a problem fitting into your best 22. Wish him luck and all the best at Collingwood and hope that he stays injury free and his knees don't give him anymore problems.

Morrison finished the season with a run of 25+ possession games. Very good player who has consistently been in WC's top 6 players for the past few years. Essendon will rue missing out on this. Pick 30 is much better than 7, and im sure there is someone on our list that is as good as Nixon that we could afford to lose.

he is a good player but consistantly in our top 6 players is pushing it. I don't think he's made our top 10 since MM left. Saying that, he's a 150 gamer and is a good pick up for the Pies and he would have been good for the bombers if they had taken him too.

1999- Traded pick 3 and clinton king for McKee and pick 7. Pick & they took Danny Roach who did not play a game. Pick 3 could have landed pavlich. McKee has proved to be worthless.
Mal Michael for Jarrod Molloy. He is now retired and Mal Michael is close to the best full back in the afl.
Paul Williams to Sydney and Andrew Schauble to Sydney for nothing of significance in return.
2004- Another disaster. Why on earth would we give up pick 7? We do get 10, but id rather keep 7 and not get morrisson. From what ive seen, morrisson is a dud and hes not that young. Blame and Co. need to get the sack.

The pies midfield is the new mosquito fleet, Morrison, Licuria, O'Bree, Woewodin, McGough etc etc.

From our perspective, it was a great trade - I think just a good trade for you guys...but having written that, our respective wants are different. We now get 3 picks in the top 7, and as we are re-building our list, that's a very good thing. With all due respect to Nixon, he was an aside - effectively, we traded pick 10 for your pick 7, because you needed our 37 to get Morrison (which I believe is a steal).

In regards to this trade, all bias aside: Hawthorn>Collingwood>WCE.

Morrison's not a dud.
Collingwood feel they would get the same pick with 10 that theyw ould have with 7 , reasoning that the top 5 are quality and the rest you can throw a blanket over.
So basically they view the trade as Bo Nixon for Chad Morrison.

Nope impossible, for all you know we may end up getting the same player we wanted at #7

WCE supporters believe we got a bargian for the Morrison deal so that's good enough for me.

Annoyed the Eagles couldn't get anything better for Morrison. This was his first proper season since injury and he got better with every game - he will continue to improve next year and will start to get back to close to his best sometime next season. In my opinion a bargain for Collingwood.
