Bailey seems big on teaching and developing players as quickly as possible, but i wouldnt think either would be in the starting side in
RD 1. Though a strong NAB cup campaign may change this.

Depends totally on how successful the side is this year and if they have an immediate impact.

I'd say if the side is successful...both would be anywhere between 0-5 games.

If we go through a similar year (god forbid) anywhere between 2-12 games.

I reckon Morton will play more. He wont play early but I reckon he could really top us off with his run and kicking ability. I can see him settling on a wing and he seems to be the player we really need someone to run and carry and finish. Debut in round 5.

FWIW I've seen a bit of both of these guys play this year and I would say Grimes is more AFL ready. In junior footy he's always had a very calm approach to the game and the best term I've heard him described is a "heart beat". He'll fit in well with your team and plays a lot like your McDonald, McLean, Jones types.

Morton is perhaps just a little too slender for his height to jump straight in. I haven't seen him train with you guys or anything but from watching him this year I would've thought he could play a little bit in 08 just for a taste, but not a huge amount of AFL.

You've definitely got a couple of gems on your hands with these two.

Morton will play a fair few games

he's a natural outside player with a huge tank and an awesome kick, as long as he isn't as soft as his brothers he should have an impact early in the season.

don't need to be 95kg's to receive the ball out wide or off half back, look at Mackie and Rosa, both twigs but have no problems getting games since they have such good engines.

Mackie for one struggled early though. I wouldn't put too much pressure on Morton in 08 but he should definitely strut his stuff in the NAB cup.

Would expect Grimes to play a fair few games at half back gradually moving into the middle. Morton probably won't play until late in the year (Rd.15-18) and may only get a handful of games. Maric is the one who I expect to play the most. He will probably play Rd.1 and stay in the forward pocket for the whole year, this would mean Davey will be used up the ground a bit more.
