If going by AA selections, Scott West is underrated or overrepresented
Dean Kemp has 1 selection, but he's better than Scott West

Bill Hutchison made 10 All Australian teams. I think he's top of the pile, yeah?
I'm, not an Bummers fan but if Dick Reynolds says he was the "best player I've seen", then I'm listening.
Just saying!

Because I took the list on page 649 of the 2019 AFL Record Season Guide and tried to make some sense of it given the list is of "All Australians" selected since 1953 and listed between pages 645-648.in my opinion that list is nonsense. The qualities of such players as Bradley, Kernahan and Platten were quite obvious during their careers.
They don't need their list of honours and career achievements topped up by false claims.
There is only one AA team chosen in the years when such teams are chosen,
so the list having multiple entries for the same year is not a good look.
Besides the source you appear to use [presumably AFL Season Guide] is one that cannot be trusted, there being a number of players either missing from your "combined list" or have wrong totals shown.
Under the auspices of the ANFC or later variant like the NFL, and specifically identified as such,
a total of 14 official All Australian teams were chosen:
one each series after interstate carnivals held in 1953 - 56 - 58 - 61 - 66 - 69 - 72 - 79 - 80 - 88 [1980 was a Carnival year, not national]
and one each series after a range of interstate matches in 1983 - 85 - 86 - 87.
There was NOT an AA team chosen in 1984.
Under the auspices of the AFL, and specifically identified as such,
a total of 28 official All Australian teams have been chosen:
one each year from 1991 to 2018.
Proof that the AFL decided to introduce an AA team under its auspices in 1991 and not earlier,
can be found here in the editorial on page 3 of the AFL Record 16/18 August 1991: http://handle.slv.vic.gov.au/10381/129699
VFL/AFL Teams of the Year were chosen under the auspices of either the VFL or the AFL, apparently a total of 8 times
in the following years: 1982 - 83 - 84 - 86 - 87 - 88 - 89 - 90. Note: no team chosen in 1985, why not I wonder ?
By the way, if you were so keen to add those "state" TOY's to inflate player records,
why didn't you add the TOY's from other competitions as well ?
Then what is the team listed on page 646 under 1984 National All Australian teams??There was NOT an AA team chosen in 1984.
It's a shame that that record will no doubt be beaten in the next decade by at least 5 lesser players.
