Yesterday Jay Schultz took 8 marks, 6 contested in a very impressive display.
Earlier, Travis Cloke took 12 marks, with an amazing 8 contested.

Obviously the "contested" mark is a stat that has been kept only relatively recently, and historically we would have seen guys like Plugger and Dunstall doing this on a weekly basis. Was the stat being recorded when Carey was at his height?

Since the stat has been recorded, what are the greatest individual contested mark feats in a single game?

My Pro-Stats data currently only spans the seasons 2000-07. The most in that period is 10 by Wayne Carey (R6 2000).

Jonathan Brown, Chad Cornes, Ottens, and Richo (twice) had 9.

Dunkley, Gehrig, Chris Grant, Hamill, McKernan, Neitz, Anthony Rocca, Jason Saddington!, Tarrant, Nathan Thompson, Nick Holland (twice) and Richo (twice) had 8.

Top three averages for the period were Loewe (2.76), Richo (2.59) and A.Rocca (2.05).

Surely Kouta would have come close in one his ******* games where he just did everything.

I counted at least 10 by Wayne Carey vs Geelong in that 1995 Prelim final. Probably wasn't recorded back then.
