Fall Out Boy

Personally i would think the early favourite is Donyell Marshall.

In 2000-2001 he averaged 13.9 ppg on .503 shooting, 7 rpg.

In 2001-2002 he's averaging 19.3 ppg on .613 shooting, 8 rpg

He has also improved in EVERY statistical category.

Any other candidates? Maybe Jalen Rose

Lorenzen Wright was a monster for a while there but he has slowly slipped back into his usual 10 - 7 rather than the 25 - 18 he was getting for a while...now he's out injured but he was my pick if he can keep producing. Mo Petersen looked alright too for a while.

On consistency i too would have to go with Marshall. Still his improved game isnt helping the Jazz win anymore games...

donyell... yes improved..
but was always an above average SF...

lorenzen had some monster numbers... but, hampered with some injuries right now.. might drop off a little now...

my vote goes to two white boys !

brad miller.... thanks to the trade of elton brand, and drafting of kids.... this former cack of a player, is now the main post threat in chicago... had some big 20-10 games, but at the moment is averaging 16pt 9rb on ~~ (as opposed to 9pt 7rb last yr..)

wally szczerbiak... always been a handy & decent player.. but this yr, this guy is shooting the lights out ~ 18.5pt 5rb 3.5 as... the main thing is his shooting... 54%, 80% and 54% from 3pt land... and also a main reason for the t-wolves great start...

Ah thats who i forgot, the boys got talent.

He's still got a stack of improvement left, if onyl he lost a few pounds and improved his movement he'd be vicous

The man that in the end should stand out in Nick Van Exel.

Hell the man's gone from averaging 17 ppg last season to a league leading 27 ppg and more importantly his shot selection has improved drastically thus so has is FG%, shooting .448, now that is improvement

I know that part of the improvement has come from the absence of Dyess but you have to give the bloke credit for stepping up

I give Van Exellent lots of credit for standing up when he is needed but he wont win the most improved player award as his numbers will drop back down to around 17 - 20 ppg once McDyess gets back. He will always be the second option on offence at Denver.

Ahhhhh thats you i was forgetting. DC is back and in a big way. Putting up numbers we havent seen from him in years. Hes gone from 8 and 5 to 17 and 9!!

What about brad miller??
he has improved alot since last year.

season 00-01 averages:
PPG: 8.9 Tot Reb: 7.4 FG Percentage: 43.5

season 01-02 averages:
PPG: 16.2 Tot Reb: 9.2 FG Percentage: 50

The player I'm hoping will step up in a big way soon is Darius Miles. He was my tip at the start of the year to be the most improved, but due to a lack of a starting spot, and court time, he is struggling to put up big numbers.

yepp... that guy just needs the mins.. i'm sure he can produce nice numbers...

how about Bonzi Wells... the scoring machine.. had a nice yr last yr, but this yr.. has come out in a big way..

rasheed wallace IS the man at portland, but thanks to inconsistent play... Bonzi is currently the leading scorer and main offensive threat... scoring average is up from approx 13 to 20ppg ~ (on a team with many scorers)..

Kenyon Martin and Shane Battier have improved aswell..

Battier's a rookie mate.

As for Darius Miles, the kid's gonna be good , he's extremely agile for his size, he's got mad hops and can do everything.

Cheers

Be nice if the Wizards could trade for him. Given 30 40 mins a night i bet he could get huge numbers. Really help out Mike.

The Wizards played damn well today to get on Philly in Philly.

I like the look of this Haywood kid, he's got a real physical presence, he gets the job done without fuss

I think Brad Miller is doing well, Quentin Richardson improving and Lorenzon Wright although dropping off in the last weeks has been impressive.

I think by seasons end it will be out of:

Rashard Lewis
Bonzi Wells
Wally Szczerbiak

Rashard Lewis definitely has game, although i think he'll take another couple of years before we asee the best of him.

Cheers

Yeah Lewis has got game. I also like the look of Haywood, but he's a rookie and isnt eligible but he looks the goods.

After watching Haywood against Dikembe last Thursday you had to be very impressed with the rookie...for only his second game he really showed some potential I thought.

Yeah i saw that game, he looked great. Now they just need to develop his offensive game a bit more and he could develop into one of the leagues best bigmen. Real early i know but the potential is there.
