Alot of players have extracted the digit this year, but three stand out for different reasons.

Grover has blossomed this year, mainly due to "Granpa" Parkers tutoring. He has been confident and attacked the ball at all occassions. Obviously this is due to Parker now getting time to back up players, rather than have to look after the whole backline himself (well Kickett did help a little bit ...).

Koops has proved to be a solid performer this year, although I wish he'd spoil more often!!. He has proved me wrong (humble pie), as I had him on the scrap heap.

Shaun McManus in my eyes has always given 100% and has been wrongly blamed for Freo mixed fortunes over the past years. Sometimes when you try too hard you can stuff things up, but that is better than someone who doesn't have a go and thus makes no errors. Macca seems to be playing better because the focus has been on other players and also due to other players lifting their games, Maccas work looks alot better.

from last season hasleby has improved the most

Grover has been very good

walker has been playing well this season

koops has always had the goods just been injury prone

1) Grover - From a nobody to one of our best defenders
2) Pavlich - From a solid contributor to one of the stars of the AFL
3) McManus - I think relinquishing the captaincy has helped
4) Koops - Finally gets to play injury free
5) Walker - Although not always one of my favourites...he has improved quite a lot, and could be trade bait.

Bascially the whole side has improved.

Haselby would be my pick too.

I had also put Koops on the scrapheap. Take my hat off to him for proving me wrong. Wasn't so surprised about Grover though, he showed good signs from the beginning.

why would walker be trade bait?
any player could be trade bait if the right deal comes along, why develope players and when they start to improve ship them off to other teams.I always thought walker was a better player than jess sinclair and look at his form over the last few months.it happens so many times with freo players that if there not stars straight away then there not good enough for us and are traded.

i think hasleby along with grover have been big improvers mcmanus has played some good footy this year
but the whole teams has improved i mean to come of a 2 win season and have 9 wins to round 20 is a big improvement

I'd have to say Macca as I thought he was on the chopping block after the season, the way he goes at the ball (ala Troy Cook Style) is brillant & adds some hardness to the club.

There are alot of improved players, 9-11 (so far...) reflects that but Hase after that first year is back to that level & will get better.

I dont know what Medhurst was like in the WAFL but if it was anything close to this season why didn't we get him sooner?
