Just wondering of the 2 options mentioned what is most likely to happen.

This is not having a go at the Blues just wondering thats all, as they are the only 2 things that can happen in 07 that will be three-peats.

If the Tiger had of finished 9th in 05 I would have put them in as well.

You must be up to about a 12PEAT for crap polls...
Do you spend you whole time on this site just criticising those who begin threads. You did the same thing in Carlton are Rabble. It is a legitimate question try answering it or are you afraid the Blues will be successful.

Interesting question, I believe Carlton winning the spoon for a 3rd time in a row is far more likely than BOTH WCE and Sydney making yet another grand final together.

Both Sydney and West Coast have had a pretty charmed run in regards to injuries to their best players.

If Sydney lose two out of Goodes, Hall, Kirk and Barry, or West Coast two out of Judd, Kerr, Cousins and Cox for any extended period, they could end up struggling a bit.

It would take a lot for both of them to make it again - I mean, even in so far as if they end up playing in a Preliminary final this year instead of a Grand Final, then you won't see it.

I don't think that Carlton WILL win the spoon this year, but it's probably more likely than both WCE and Sydney making the GF.

I don't really expect either to happen but carlton getting the spoon again is probably more likely. It would be pretty hard for both West Coast and Sydney to be able to maintain form and injuries another season to be able to play off again together in the grand final. Only a few things have to go wrong for grand final hopes to be crushed.

I agree that it will be difficult for the West Coast and Sydney to appear again in a Granny. With teams like Adelaide, Melbourne and the Bulldogs having a big dig at the Granny next year, its going to be difficult for both those teams to make it.

So i voted for Carlton :)

West Coast has hardly had a charmed run with injuries. All of the players you mentioned (plus many more from our first 22) were out with injury for at least three weeks this year.

In relation to the poll, I cant see Sydney making a third Grand Final.;)

I would like to see West Coast v Crows in a third prelim though, they seem to work out OK.

I'm talking for the whole season, with an achilles or knee injury, or something similar, as can happen.

For the large part, both teams have gone through the finals pretty healthy for the last two years.

You haven't had many season ending injuries though. I wonder if Hansen had have injured himself for the season this year, would you have won the grand final. Thing is, West Coast are a team and needed every player on the park to win, especially since the grand final was so close.

I still say that I wonder what St. Kilda could do if the injury gods smiled on them for once.

I highly doubt either will happen, though, Carlton's third spoon would be more likely, albeit an extremely slim percentage, what with teams like Essendon, Kangaroos (and hopefully the Colliwobbles) all with crappy, old lists. Carlton's on the rise, and even if we do win a spoon next year (which, let me reiterate, is EXTREMELY unlikely), we'll be premiers before 2011.

Ashley Hansen only played in 11 H&A games this year because of injury (and one of those he was injured within 90 seconds of the game starting and played no further part)

Most premiers are premiers because they can put their best team on the park on GF day, as happened for us this year.

Last year we were not so lucky.

The reason we played players like Kasey Green (6 games in 2004, 3 games in 2005), Travis Gaspar (hadn't played since Round 10 2004 then gets called up for the Prelim and GF), Gardiner (was actually injured but still played), Butler (only a handful of games to his name at that stage) etc in the 2005 GF was because we had a lot of injuries to our best 22.

Okay, mistake on Hansen. But players like Kerr, Judd, Glass, Lynch, Hunter etc. have been relatively free of injury. The same can't be said of St. Kilda or Western Bulldogs.

We had a terrible run with injuries this year.

Kerr - 3 weeks
Judd - 3 weeks
Cox - 6 weeks
Nicoski - Season ending injury
Cousins - 2 weeks
Wirrpanda - 4 weeks IIRC
Hansen - 11 weeks
Butler - 10 weeks
Hunter - 3 weeks
Fletcher - 3 weeks
Embley - 4 weeks
Glass - 2 weeks
Waters - 2 weeks
B.Jones - 2 weeks

Those are the best 22 who got injured during the year. The only time we got our best 22 was during the finals series which was just good timing on our part

I can't understand why a Carlton supporter would arc up in a thread with that title. Go figure ....

Cousins and Hunter were both out for 4 weeks this year. And dont forget Chick out for 3 as well.
