For Essendon or league wide?

If it is league wide, then J.McDonald, Robert Harvey and Simon Black definitly spring to mind.

I know Harvs and Black have both won Brownlows, but they just never get put into the same category as Hird, Voss, Judd etc.

And JMAC has been so good for Melbourne, even this year while they struggled, but he doesnt get the accolades that Bruce, Green and McLean all manage to get.

Preferably Essendon, but if you really believe someone elsewhere in the league!

David Hille is one of Essendon's most valuable players because we struggle without him.
He doesn't get enough credit.

And Mark McVeigh is a superstar and isn't given enough recognition
So he is underrated as well.

jay nash by far...no one had heard of him last year and has flown under many others radars so far this year, will do plenty of damage in the run to finals

How could Pev be underrated?

I swear a week does not go by where you can see him get visibly scared of getting a contested ball and back out of the contest.
