Not that rocket needs anymore motivational tips from me, but a thought that crossed my mind. If I were a doggies player in the 2008 preliminary final team and whilst addressing the group rocket brought in a few guys.

Scott West, Rowan Smith, Chris Grant, Luke Darcy, Doug Hawkins, Scott Wynd, Tony Liberatore, Simon Beasley, etc etc.

Then said something along the lines of, Take a look at the guys in front of you...... brownlow medalists, a seven time best and fairest, dual best and fairest, dual all Australians, 300 gamers, club games record holder, club goals record holder.... and everyone of them would give up everything to be in your position right now.... Remember why you play football and remind yourself that this could be the only chance you ever get to play in a grand final.

Any other motivation tools or speeches anyone else thinks Rocket or Brad Johnson could use on the weekend?

All of that sounds fantastic, but i think if these finals series have shown us anything, it would be for the boys to keep their focus on the task at hand and seek inspiration/motivation from within.

We all know what went on prior to the Hawks games and how that changed the following week. So rather than weigh our boys down with the burden of our past failures and missed opportunities, let them get out there, strut their stuff and give their all for one another.

Creating their own history!

If you trottted out all those players, with their personal success, it would make me question why I would suceed when Brownlow medalists, all Australians etc failed.
