Mountain Biking Thread

Any keen MTBer's here? I couldn't see a thread on MTBing so thought I'd start one.

I ride a Yeti 575 and enjoy getting out to Yarra Trails, Lysterfield, Woodend, Forrest and Catlemaine when I can.

I rode the BMC 100 yesterday. I'm stuffed today and have taken the day off work to recover. The singletrack was great and I will have a guess in saying that 70% of the race was singletrack.

Yep did the BMC 100 as well, the day after racing the Baw Baw Classic, so the first 30odd k were absolutely balltearers before i got my legs back and finished well. Time was 6:23 which was way too slow but given racing the day before i was happy to finish really!

Fav tracks have to be down at Forrest (Mariners Run) and also love ripping it up down at Westgate park when i dont have the time to get out of the city.

As all my spare cash gets ploughed into road racing my MTB is straight down the line value for money. Giant XTC1 08 model. Does the job and cops the abuse though a dually would have been sweet for the BMC Pine forest sections.

Sorry haven't been around for awhile.

An XTC1 is a rocket. I've thought about buying a hardtail to rocket through the Yarra Trails. I have an old NRS1 that I sometimes commute on via the Yarra Trails as I live near Burke Rd and Eastern Fwy.

I'm heading up to the Beechworth Six Hours in the saddle today. Should be a good race.

I have just started doing a bit of riding on the Yarra Trail (nothing serious). I got my bike (Cannondale F6) a few months back and have enjoyed it thus far. It seems to be a decent bike to start out on.

Cannondale makes a nice bike. My friend has the scapel with a leftie and that's a sweet ride.

I went out to Wombat yesterday and it is fast becoming my fav place to ride.
