Actually, can you import your Outlook e-mail to Thunderbird?

I'm loathe to move to Thunderbird as I have tons of rules and e-mail accounts set up for various web sites I run. Does Thunderbird import those like Firefox imports your IE faves and cookies?

well their is a option not sure how well it works: Tools -> Import

Mozilla Suit Link

Ok, but what's the difference?

Why do you suggest to use Mozilla Suit instead of Netscape 7.1 when, as you say, they use the same source code?

And what advantages does Firefox have?

Firefox is smaller, seems quicker to load up, all i can say is give it a go; its only about 4mb. I would suggest Mozilla Suite over Netscape since they didn't put annoying stuff into it e.g. aim, but if you like it don't worry about it then, maybe just give it a go and see what you think of it.

Debugging is better, but the CSS seems a little behind IE. For example I've been using the margin-left attribute as per the CSS standards on paragraphs to do custom indenting. Works on IE, but not Mozilla :(

I had trouble with CSS but with border styles. NS and Firefox like the measurement in px. Simple solution. As for paragraphs I had a site that had the CSS rules etc for each browser. But I can't seem to remember it atm.

Have you tried TopStyle editor?

Thanks.

Might give it a go, might not. Sounds like it doesn't have any significant advantage over N 7.1, so I might just stick with that.

I now use Mozilla Firefox. I never used IE bookmarks, the Yahoo toolbar and it's bookmarking does/did the trick for me.

One problem, can't get ieview plugin to work. Can anyone assist?

Check it out now. Should be more in line with what you're used to.

Actually, no it's not. IE renders CSS more faithfully than any other browser I've used including Opera, any of the Gecko-based browsers and that Linux one I use on one of my machines (Konqueror?). IE has a couple of issues (like p+p{} won't render properly) but really it is the most solid of the lot, CSS wise.

You're probably not trying to render compliant CSS.

Tried swapping over to px, but made no difference. Call me lazy but I prefer browsers that stick to CSS standards, of which I've found IE does the best. Haven't tried the Konqueror engines (including Safari), as I've mainly be working on Intranet stuff where 99% of the end users are IE and my Linux partition is buggered at the moment.

Having said all that, IE could be alot more CSS compliant. Hardly any of the pagination rules are followed. Life would be so much easier if they were. Another factor I've been playing around with recently is importing xml data into an already loaded page to make a page dynamic but with processing handled on the client side. IE seems to handle this alot better than Mozilla.

BTTT a couple of years ago, IE was the stand-out browser engine, now mozilla and konqueror have largely caught up, but IMO have a couple of failings. Given Micro$oft's decision not to release any further versions of IE as a stand-alone browser, it seems pretty much ineveitable that the challengers will emerge in a couple of years time as the browser of choice (unless you have a fritz-chip, but that's another story).

Haven't tried Topstyle, but will give it a go.
