MRP: Vince, Knights both cleared

Didn't even know Knights was up. As for Vince, was not worried. He was assaulted and jumped upon, and I am mystified as to why he was even reported.

And Essendon need to address their cultural problem. Such thuggery worked in 2000 but times have changed.

Though some will state we lack some mongrel, i am proud of our uncompromising yet fair attack on the ball and opposition (not to say we couldn't tackle better). eg Bernie Vince himself...courageous game, took the hits, won the hard balls in traffic, never a backward step when challenged...love it! Better than cheap thuggery trying to mask a relative deficiency in footballing ability and mental strength.

These 2 sniping thugs were lucky to only get 2 matches each. Each of them were judged as low impact, when they were clearly at least medium impact which would have added another game onto their enforced holiday.

Does anybody know what was the question mark on Knights? If not, I'll have a look at the recording during the week to see what the fuss was about.

As for Vince even being reported for wrestling, what a joke!! He's just been snotted unexpectedly by McVeigh who then jumps on him and BERNIE gets reported for wrestling!! :rolleyes:

Just another example of how out of touch with football reality the maggots really are!!

2nd quarter, members wing. There's a pack on the ground and Knights come in and makes contact with the knee. Nothing reportable in it. Howver, the MRP have stated that they review incidents highlighted in the media, and one media person decided to make a meal of it.

What gets me is that the emergency umpire came out to make that call. I can understand how one of the match umpires can make an error - trying to watch a lot of things and misinterpreting one. I cannot for the life of me understand how the emergency umpire can get it so badly wrong when he leaves the bench to get involved in one incident, misses the one thing worth reporting and reports something that got dismissed without further review. Top effort, that.

I think our tackling has been a lot better of late, maybe not so much in how many we're sticking but the ones we do stick have been more aggressive.

Thats one of the things I love about the crows though, when it comes to the ball we never take a backwards step but we don't get involved in all the attacking the man rubbish. Especially in ouur youngsters, obviously Danger, Tippet and Symes have shown their courage again and again but also the likes of Mackay, Otten, McKernan and certainly Petrenko have shown when they need to go they have no fear in their pursuit of the ball.

Good times ahead.
 
Does anyone actually seen any footage of the NLM incident that caused his suspension? I've watched the replay and it seems to miss the actual contact, just that Vince is on the ground and NLM is the only person near him.

No, it doesn't appear on what Ch 7 vision offers.

I did see it happen at the game. Vince was standing slightly on the grandstand side of CHF watching the play which was about 40 metres away close to our goal.

For no reason other than to hurt, the cowardly Lovett-Murray ran at the unsuspecting Vince approaching him flat out from the grandstand side and crashing him to the ground in a dazed condition. Very heroic, Lovett Murray you snipe.

In practice it was a charge, but the authorities have it watertight by calling it unduly rough play. No way out of that for the sniper!!

Unless they just guess. I would have thought if there was behind the goals vision they would release it. If I was NLM and there was no vision I would appeal.
 
So you all call the Essendon players snipes, and yet Knights gives a cheap knee right into an Essendon players' back that everyone happily forgets about. Double standards. NLM - no evidence other than the adelaide player coming off second best from aone on one bump. Tribunal got sucked in the the crowds boos (I gues Lovett should be suspended also for getting booed for no apparant reason.) McVeigh, stupid act, but not sniping. He got frustrated at his team being r*ped and threw one in a wrestle. Deserves his suspension for stupidity alone..

Matty Knights has installed a fantastic culture at Windy Hill. McVeigh is the only player on the list that has troubles keeping his aggression intact.

As for Adelaide, well done on the weekend. We were certainly slaughtered after the first 40 mins. Please, beat Collingwood.

3 of the 5 were crap. McVeigh, yes, had a brain snap. Lloyd ran into a palyer and won us the game, did it for the team.

Ryder - Jumper punch that slipped off the jumper. Hodge hits him first (overlooked by all media, not even mentioned actually) and gets nothing, whilst Ryder retaliates and lets go of the jumper and gets one with no previous record.

Lonergan - Joke. Hodge again pushes Lonners in the throat then Lonergan responds and pushes him back in the throat and gets a week whilst Hodge, who got him first, again, gets no even as a please explain. Difference was Hodge selled it well and acted like he was shot in the face and legs as he threw himself to the ground.

NLM - Wasn't even caught on camera and he get's 2 weeks, possibly 3? Whilst bateman gives a round arm to Lloyds face and gets 1 week? For a round arm to the face that was delibrately planend ahead to get lloyd back. and NLM gets possibly 3? C'mon, now really.

Judd will get off due to being the AFL's love child, you watch.
