i once heard this really nasty prank call to some woman. some guys rang here up and claimed they were from AOL and they needed to fix something with her account. they made her go to the dos prompt and made her type something like

C:> deltree *.*

nasty stuff. she was crying when she found out that she had been the victim of a hoax.

Well that's not going to do a lot; dos and micro$loth will still be there when you're done. Surely it would be better to do the following:

mv dos > /dev/null
mv micro$loth > /dev/null

(or of course just delete the files :))

Hahahaha!!!

I think that should be a semi-colon, not a comma, in the input statement, though.

How about this :

Hmmmm...it's been too long.

Is there a different treatment when your input string is text and when it is numeric? It is comma for numeric and semi-colon for alphanumeric?

Disagree on the semi-colon on the end of line 90 though. The program will work fine without it.

Not sure. Perhaps you're right. Can't remember either.

Oh it'll work fine without it ... but it won't be as visually pleasing :)

Jeez that C 64 screen brings back memories. Didn't the ";" place the response directly at the end of the prompt and the "," placed the response after the next tab? Something like that.

Remember learning 6052 (I think) machine code. What a waste of time that was but taught you a bit about computers.

Well ; and , were definitely next character and next tab place separators for printing, but I still contest it didn't apply to input statements. (I base this on the fact that QBASIC today is this way).
