I noticed that when you take shots around $3 and put them in Multis, boy does it accumulate..Maybe instead of $1.20 shots, you should try to snag a shorter, "rough" multi.

I just took:
Phily -4.5/Over 200.5pts -$3.50
Miama -6.5/Over 182.5pts -$3.65
Toronoto -3.5/Over 207.5pts -$3.50
Golden State +9.5/Under 232.5pts -$3.50

Yes, I know its hard enough to snatch one leg like that, but I am getting 156.40 per unit so I put 10 on it for a collect of a little over 1.5k.

Even if you go 3 legs, your still netting around 45-1..

I know its simple to work out by times the legs, but I really didnt think they would accumulate that quick...

It's just mathmatics mate. Backing 4 $2 chances in a multiple @ $16 might sound attractive but the reality is you are actually only a 1 in 16 chance of landing it. It's actually even more when you consider each leg has a 15-20% 'rake' on it.

Naturally.

Pocket AA's v KK's are roughly an 80% chance of winning, but KK still bobs up =). Id love to be holding the bullets tho all the time? lol

I just think for a 4-leg multi, gives you a ride for your money. And who knows :)

In theory you only have to have the first 3 legs hit and you can hedge on the fourth. :thumbsu:

If your just gonna do that why bother putting a 4th leg in?

I tried these sort of things a few weeks back with sportingbets Fav Four on the saturday racing and i got a few up at around 50-1 to 120-1. So just sitting back having my $5 on a few of them i made a good profit.

Also sports betting is not simple maths, just because you have a 4 leg multi with them all paying $2 doesnt mean you are a 1 in 16 chance of getting it. There are so many different variables in sports betting to give you the edge and it isnt as simple as saying you have a 1 in 16 chance of winning.

hedging when you have already got the roughie in last leg is difficult

ie you need to place a large bet at short odds

laying off on a roughie is easier in terms of cashflow -

Had a nice 4-fold multi last night:

Man Utd v Liverpool(Lay)
Blackburn(Lay) v Chelsea
Rangers v St. Mirren(Lay)
Zaragoza(Lay) v Barcelona

Got the above multi at $1.52 on Betfair. :)

I take 5 individual multi bets of 4 legs with 3 same legs at short odds ($1.20 to $1.36). These are usually the double chance soccer events or F1 top 8 into - the five most likely winning chances of the AFL to have the highest score of the round. You get 10/1 - 11/1 at the very minimum and your 4th choice highest score selection could be 23/1 to as high as 36/1. Gives you an interest in every game of the round. If you wish to lay off on the sunday you get great odds to select the score bracket.

i.e carlton scores 136 and is leading after 5 matches of the round. Sunday Adelaide play (usually tight footy) Sydney play (usually tight footy) and Saints play at etihad. Take the next two higher brackets over 136 points for the saints.

I have been doing this for a few seasons with great results. Its amazing the betting agencys don't seem to factor in this market the significance of playing at etihad. A 10 to 15 minute burst at that ground is so hard to stop and the odds usually don't take this into account.

Rd. 1 I will be trying for highest score. Blues, Hawks, Lions, Doggies & Pies (Etihad factor)
