How have you guys rated his return?

His pre-season, or lack of, is showing a bit with fitness and tonight was a mixed bag skill wise.

I look forward to a return to his pre-injury form and recon he is probably traveling around 70%

We missed the old Mundy tonight, just that ability to get clean ball into dangerous players hands and kick accurately at goal. You've got to keep him in the team and work him back into fitness/form, but he's a long long way from where he was pre-injury.

Yeah, my thougts as well.

A fit Mundy = win tonight.

He's our most important player becuase he's just so bloody clean and skillful at full flight.

I'm sorry if I sound like a broken record, but I believe the after effects of the injuries (and in my view mismanagement) of 2010 will be felt for a while yet. And some might not return to their previous form at all.

Mundy had a fair game, getting 27 disposals which is good for him and shows good work rate. He was targetted and always under pressure. He has that ability to create more time than others seem to be able to create in similar traffic, however tonight was not his night.

Still in the best players for me, but he can offer a lot more.

There was one moment I believe in the 3rd when he was running off and he looked pretty knackered, I thought he may be injured at that time but he came back on.

Well you might be right with Mundy. His sort of injury is known to end careers, and at the very least takes a long time to get completely right. The thing is we're not talking kick-to-kick in the park here either, it's elite sport and a supper demanding one too. Any weakness gets shown up unfortunately.

Don't know the details of course, but my gut feeling is that it's only a matter of time, perhaps next season, but he'll come good.

Totally correct. It is only worth pressing on through an injury if it is grand final week AND you are in the said grandy. Otherwise, taking the risk is complete bollocks.

That being the case, everyone at the club has to work around that reality. When a board puts a coach on a deal where the difference between 12 and 13 wins is life or death, then be prepared for your coach to take stupid risks to get that 13th win in the bag.

That particular win is his grand final (or "foinal" as they say in Victoria).
