Looking at being up that way next year, was wondering how much a difference in standard there is and ladder positions of last season if possible. Have to find a club!

GVFL would definitely be stronger than Murray FL, but Murray FL ain't a week league by any means.

Ladders of both should be available via vcfl.com.au

In the area, I think the leagues by strength would be ordered :
Goulburn Valley FL
Murray FL
Kyabram DFL
Picola & DFL

The Goulburn Valley Football League's a better standard (it's only behing the perrenially strong Ovens & Murray League), than the Murray League, but the MFL clubs play a fast, open brand of football due to the fact that thier grounds a bloody huge.

BTW, where in the Valley are you moving to Football365 ?, because if your moving to my neck of the woods, there's only one team to support, Tatura the 2003 GVFL Premiers, or Murchison in the Kyabram League the mighty Grasshoppers (don't let the wussy nickname put you off) Trust me :D .

Wayde,
At this stage i will be living in Shepparton, and the Murray League sounds like it would suit me perfectly as i love the big grounds. I have a job north of Shepparton hence the murrray league clubs although i am hearing from a few clubs at the moment, teams i cant even pronounce, ill wait and see on it. I am looking forward to playing in warm weather again after 2 years in the Ballarat League where is is close in, wet and very physical.

You wouldnt be able to provide me with the ladders of the GVFL and Murray and other league table from last year would you?

With the GVFL, a 2nd cousin plays for echuca so i wouldnt want to play against him. He is apparently tough as, veery handy as well. He got knocked out in the GF against Tatura. I am no where as good as he is or was though ;)

I have to agree with Wayde the only side to play for is the mighty bulldogs of Tatura. I guess your cousin is Patrick. I saw the hip and shoulder that knocked him out. A fair bump, but the poor bloke didn't look too good, glad it wasn't too serious.

Thanks for that BigV. Looking forward to the footy there next year once i have a club, are few have already started ringing, one team wasnt even in either of those two leagues, couldnt even pronounce it??. Would appricitate if you have any news on coaches, the teams or whatever for each team for the Shepparton area and north of that too.

Being from Nathalia, North of Shepp, I would suggest you pick them as your team. My mother's brothers all played for the club and the town itself, is a great place, right on the Broken River. Plus the town has 3 pubs within 500m of eachother. The team itself is fairly good and in the past few years has challenged for the premiership, on a number of times. However I haven't taken much notice of their results since my Nana died and as she was my last link, living in the town. Haven't been there since Oct 2000.

On the league, the Murray League is of good standard, heck my uncle got an invite to train with the Cats at one stage, but turned it down to stay with Nan. However the GVFL is the better league and in those parts if you got offered a spot on a GVFL team, you took it.

Overall its a great part of the world and an area you should really enjoy. Shepp itself is a big enough town with every thing you need.
