hey,
I saw this in the shop the other and asked the shop assitant if she could explain it, it was clear that she didn't have any idea what she was talking about.
I would love to know what people think about Creatine in general? I've heard that you have to drink lots of water (about 3L a day) so you dont get kidney stones? is this true?
Also it says you have to have it on an empty stomach, would this mean that you have it first think in the morning, before you have had your breakfast?
Also you carnt have it with coffee, this means at all or just when u have it?

I know its alot of Question, i'm looking for any infomation i can get...
I'm on the Musashi Bulk protein but i feel its not doing a hell of alot, i've only put on 1kg in 2months, with weights and no cardio.

Google it

But basically takes the excess water in you system and stores it in your muscle mass so you look bigger

Clearly it does take water from your system so you need to drink more to replace it

I wouldnt suggest buying it or using it without reading about it even a bit first

IMO something like creatine is something you need when you've exhausted all other avenues of your aspirations to get big. How's your diet? it plays a huge role in determining your muscle/strength size. Are you working hard enough in the gym?

go to supplement watch dot com
go to library and then archive
look up creatine
Could spend days talking about it, but it seems your not sure on what it actually does- so best to do some reading first. And Groove, i disagree that it is something you should take when exhuasted all other avenues. Its not a steroid! Yes, get the diet/workout routine sorted, but creatine, imo, is one of the few supplements worth their weight.

PS- musashi are are pretty shitty brand.

I know its not a steroid, I'm just of the opinion that people look for the easy fix with supplements like that, when they could make bigger changes to their body with diet.

Unless you are an elite level athlete exhausting your creatine phosphate stores you are merely making expensive urine.

Dont bother.

Instead, eat a good diet, work hard in the gym and allow your body time to recover.

So when you say elite athlete... does that mean physcial training pretty much every day?

I have continued to up my training load the last few months, and hit the creatine the last couple of months, and yea I have been pissing like a hose... is it pretty much going straight through my body even though I'm basically fatiguing my body every second day?

I think it means someone who is up to olympic standard or a professional sportsperson etc.

It's a waste of money like the vast majority of supplements.

Fair enough... my cousin recommended the creatine I am taking, called Myocytin from Body Science, I definitely feel like I recover quickly, and my cousin is a bit of beast swears by it... but obviously have no idea weather its placebo or actually working. I read about it on the net and actually seems pretty reliable with some good reports from various places.

I agree though, supplements are mainly a joke, steer clear of pretty much all of them, except for Myocytin.. haha.

I tried it for a while when I was doing weights 6 days a week and really the only change I noticed was that I felt dehydrated all day no matter how much water I drank.

Don't think it would be worth it unless you've pretty much peaked and aren't getting anywhere with basic protein supplements.

I've been on Creatine Monohydrate for almost 2 months...some people say you need to cycle off it for a month and others say you never need to stop it.

Wat do?

I've tried a few and not a lot has worked. I had some great success with just using the Musashi P30 protein lean muscle drinks after a workout. I hated the taste of the mix I did so I just brought bulk pre made ones when on special. I was surprised when I read not a whole lot of people rate it because it worked really well for me. I noticed a huge difference within weeks.

Dont really see them on special often now so havent used it for a year or so

I guess with supplements it all depends what works best for you

Like many who have posted here, creatine is not really an essential supplement at all.
Unless you are an elite level sportsman (specifically, doing sprints) there is no real need. Creatine Phosphate is broken down to produce energy very quickly, and your body doesn't have large stores. It does, however, recover creatine phosphate really well post-exercise.
So, unless you are an elite athlete and need to be able to increase your creatine stores to sprint better for a second, max, it is not overly useful.
As mentioned, it will take water from your system and it will diffuse to your muscles, so you may look bigger.
But, for a general population... Expensive piss.
