My team based on who we had this year not taking into account the drafts:

Back: Broughton McPharlin Silvangni
Half Back: Johnson Grover Ibbotson
Centre: Hill Duffield McPhee
Half Forward: DeBoer Pavlich Fyfe
Forward: Ballantyne Mayne Hayden
Ruck: Sandilands Barlow Mundy

Interchange:Morabito VanBerlo Palmer Crowley

Emerg:
Suban, Walters, Roberton,

It's going to be tough squeezing people in next year particularly if we pick up a few more best 22 gamers in the drafts. Competition for spots will be great to drive them into a good pre-season

I like it. Really wish the emergencies could be in the 22 though but we can't fit everyone in! Hope Suban works his butt off in the preseason.

Yea, not bad, however:

- Grover is not definite to be in the team at this stage, that would probably get Roberton in which also makes us just that bit undersized.

- Suban in some sort of form would keep VanBerlo out too I'd say.

- Barlow's is not overly likely to be playing round 1 if you want to get technical.

It's waaay early but based on a barnstorming preaseason from a few players, I'd like to see...

Hayden Mcpharlin Sibbo
Duffield Johnson Broughton

Hill Mundy Morabito

Fyfe Pavlich Walters
Mayne Crowley Ballantyne

R: Sandi Palmer McPhee

I: Roberton, Deboer, Crighton, Suban

What I'd like to see is a few of the younger guys step up enough that Hayden and Grover are pushed out of the best 22 over the NAB Cup series. I have no problems with them in the 25, it just means the likes of Roberton, Silvagni, Palmer and Walters have taken another step forward.

B Broughton - McPharlin - Ibbotson
HB Duffield - Silvagni - Roberton
C Hill - Mundy - Fyfe
HF Mayne - Pavlich - Morabito
F Ballantyne - Johnson - de Boer
R Sandilands - Barlow - Crowley

I Palmer - Suban - Walters - McPhee

And now I look at that and think we're a KP player short...

Hopefully Houghton, Shep and Sibbo can develop nicely, if 2/3 make it then great but if all 3 develop and are able to play KP then we may have got ourselves half way to a long term decent spine.

Zac will push for more time next year as well, was really disappointed with his first game this year, but watching him late in the WAFL season he really started to show something - could be a surprise packet of 2011

Yup Clarke will really want to step and I bloody hope he does

We can still play one of Kep & Johnson with Clarke/Sandi - hell we could play both

Johnno can run off HB through the middle and score goals up forward and Kep - well Kep, he can do just about anything

4 ruckmen may be overkill but if we're only utilising 2 of them and using the other two as utilities I think we could do alright

That aside:

Back: Ibbotson McPharlin Silvangni
Half Back: Johnson Grover Broughton
Centre: Hill Duffield McPhee
Half Forward: DeBoer Pavlich Fyfe
Forward: Ballantyne Mayne Bradley
Ruck: Sandilands Barlow Mundy

Interchange:Morabito Walters Crowley Clarke/Palmer - depending on who we play/what set up

When he have all our players fit and firing it's going to be f**king hard to pick who stays and who goes

I'd say its the first time in a while that there aren't obvious holes that draftees can step straight into.

assuming we put more meat on johnno's frame. also clarke will be in the side come RD 1. Barlow will take time to ge tback into it.

FB: hayden, Elvis , Silva
HB: Ibbo, Johnno, duff beer
CL: Hill, Broughton, Fyfe
HF: Mayne, Mcphee, Walters
FF: Balla, Pav, Crowley
Ruck: Sandi, Mundy, Mora

Int: De Boer, Suban, Clarke, palmer

Safe assumption. It would be nice if he could hold down CHB. Cue Memories..

Fair point, but few expected Silvagni to be a walk up start with Tarrant, McPharlin and Grover ahead of him. If we draft a physically mature tall defender he could play a lot of footy next year but it's hard to see someone going straight from colts/under 18's to a spot in our round one side.

Depends. If they're able to do what the coaches expect from them - Morabito, Hill and Suban are all examples - they may get a spot in the team straight off the bat, despite not necessarily being best 22.

The expectations will be higher, but next season will still be about development. It's all about the 'process' after all.

I'd love to see my old mate Sonny Walters to get a permanent gig in the forward line. He showed in the big games he's got what it takes so if he works hard he'll get there. With Barlow, hopefully the club manage him carefully through the NAB Cup, play him for a half or whatever to get back into the rhythm of things.

Bump.

I can't personally think of who to drop for Mzungu, Faulks or any of the draftees. But maybe someone might want to have a crack.

It's unlikely that we'll have a full list to pick from for round one, but if Mzungu, Griffin, Anthony and/or Faulks tear it up pre-season then we could see Crowley, Walters, Grover, Roberton, and possibly even Johnson playing WAFL round one.

S: Mzungu?

Just thought Mzungu could be a good Sub. Could possibly run over the opposition while also providing some hurt factor.
Roger might not pull up early so Mzungu might just slot right in to there.

I'm not so sure, he has excellent endurance (ran second in our time trial), so he'd probably manage just fine running out an entire game. Pitt could be used as a sub in the early rounds to ease him into AFL level? I'm not sure at this stage.

Yeah maybe Suban could be pretty damaging. When he's firing some of his link up plays are just awesome. Could be good if he has the freshest legs out there for once.

Oh how times have changed.

In years gone by we have discussed which crab/s we HAD to include.

Now we discuss which CLASS player that we HAVE leave OUT for team balance.

I'll just gently weep if you don't mind.:)
